OTF Premium Texas Twitter Reacts to the Win Over A&M
CJ Vogel posted a topic in On Texas Football Forum
Past, present, future Longhorns all chimed in after the win at DKR over Texas A&M. The Longhorns had a field day — and deservedly so. -
I’m surprised there’s so much interest from Vodney to UNC, and I think Texas is as well. Texas still wants him

Texas vs. Texas A&M November 28, 2025 Austin, Texas *** Can you believe it is already the final week of the season? Pretty wild. But anyways – It’s time! Texas and Texas A&M square off in Austin for the first time in 15 years. The Longhorns are looking to keep Playoff hopes alive while ruining the Aggies’ perfect season. *** 1st Quarter Sarkisian has been setting up the Wingo screen pass for a month+. I can’t believe he actually tried it. What a snag by Mosley to move the chains and drive alive. Texas is living in third and long, which is not ideal start. And yep, pressure gets home from A&M, forces an errant throw. Texas will punt. Booooouwmeeester! A&M punts on their first drive, but you can tell they wanted to attack the middle of the field. The lone first down came on a quick screen where Texas lost leverage. But pass rush and QB run lanes looked solid. Longhorns get the ball at the 35 for their second drive. Living behind the chains is not a place you want to spend a lot of time if you are Texas and Arch. Right now, the Longhorns are 0-3 passing on first downs. Need some easier completions to set up for something that isn’t 3rd and a mile. Plenty of vertical shots early on from Texas. Nothing clicking, yet. Marcel Reed’s legs are working right now for Texas A&M. Texas not really leaving a true spy is something that A&M is taking advantage of early on. Uh oh. Marcel Reed is down and is in heavy pain. The Aggie QB saw his leg go in a direction it is not built to go and the training staff is out to see him. What a swing. Ethan Burke blocks the field goal attempt and this one stays scoreless! A huge play early on in this one. Burke’s second block of the year. Texas is trying anything and everything they can on first downs today, but can’t find any success. 1st Quarter Takeaway: Both teams are struggling to make hay offensively. Texas is not leaving clean pockets for the quarterback and the interior OL is getting pushed back immediately. The biggest storyline now is the health of Marcel Reed. Texas has lived up to the billing so far defensively, a hobbled Reed would be a huge development for both sides here. 2nd Quarter Back to back successful runs from Wisner. Hopefully that is a sign, Texas was dominant a year ago in the outside zone game, looks to be an area they can find success tonight. Manning is not having a good start to this game. He is 5-15 passing so far. In turn, Texas has struggled to move the rock, and the iOL has not been great at protecting the pocket. Marcel Reed is back on the field after an apparent leg injury. He is ready to go. Is it crazy to say that Kade Phillips is Texas’ best CB? He leaves the field to injury and the Aggies immediately have success throwing deep. Longhorns hold in the red area, second time tonight they have been successful in doing that. A&M Kicks and makes a field goal. We have a tied 3–3 game. There have been so many injuries today. It has been very bizarre. The interior of the offensive line remains a mess tonight. A holding on Robertson negates the best throw of the night from Manning. Texas will punt after 3rd and 16. Two missed tackles by the Texas gunners set up a massive return for A&M. Just cannot happen, and it happens far too often. Big opportunity missed by the Texas defense. A 4th & 5 is converted by Reed. Looked like Littleton had inside leverage on the slant route, but didn’t identify the route before Craver crossed his face. A&M gets to the goal line on a Concepcion jet sweep. That’s been their best offense, just get the ball in the hands of Craver and Concepcion and let them work. Pass rush has not been successful. Texas MUST get points before halftime. A&M gets the first possession after halftime. Good Lord, Cole Hutson and Connor Robertson are not having great halves of football. 1st Half Takeaway: I thought the Texas defense did an admirable job in the first half of eliminating the big explosive plays and getting off the field. That is until the punt return allowed for a short field for A&M before the end of the half. This has the exact feel of the Georgia game where Texas could run the ball, but Sarkisian won’t commit to it. Danger territory here if A&M puts points on the board coming out of halftime. 3rd Quarter Texas desperately needs to start his quarter with a stop. And they do! Big three and out. Wisner!! A 48-yard run on the first play of the 2nd half is the longest run by a running back this season! Massive momentum opportunity for the Horns here. Arch had a lot of open ground in front of him to take off, he had one guy to miss for a touchdown too. Instead, it’s third and long. Then an intentional grounding. Goodness, the pass game has absolutely nothing going right now. Field goal from Shipley good. 10–6 A&M. The running game is really clicking. Wisner has over 100 yards rushing on only ten attempts. Teams all season showed they could run on A&M, glad to see Texas is finally realizing it before it is too late. Ryan Wingo!! An absolute snag in the back of the end zone ignites the canon and plays the fight song for the first time tonight! A much needed touchdown and Texas is quickly up 10–0 in the second half on two possessions. A third straight defensive stop would go a very long way here. Sarkisian games the playclock with a substitution late, forces Elko to burn a timeout early. Let’s see if that comes into play later on. Texas is doing whatever they can to force 3rd downs, problem is they are about 1 or 2 yards to go. Now a 4th and 1… False start! Texas forces their third straight stop. And now will get the ball back again with a chance to extend their first lead of the night. JACK ENDRIES! What a game by the Texas tight end, a massive 54-yard catch and run sets the Longhorns up in prime position to extend the lead. Wow. First time really he has been able to get loose! 3rd Quarter Takeaway: Texas dominated defensively. Three possessions, three punts. Getting off the field in the most timely manner each time. Offensively, Sarkisian finally stuck with the running game and it paid big time with 83 rushing yards on 10 attempts. Now they can make this a two possession game immediately. 4th Quarter Nick Townsend!! The first career touchdown for the Longhorns freshman tight end comes at a massive time. Longhorns lead by two scores with basically the full quarter remaining. 4th down for A&M, one yard needed… Another punt! Four possessions, four punts forced by the Longhorn defense. Fantastic work by the Longhorn defense. Texas beginning to huddle a little with a two score lead. Kobe Black has been really solid tonight. Awesome to see with his number being called. 3rd and 15… a facemask on 3rd and 15 extends the drive for A&M and they turn it into a touchdown. Texas had been great in the 2nd half, but the Aggie put it together for the first time to get points on the board. Colin Simmons should submitted tape to the SEC for non holding calls. Been all night. ARCH! What a run for the touch on! That is a massiveeeeee play and a heck of a play from the QB. Precious seconds are ticking off, even if A&M is moving the rock. MICHAEL TAAFE!! A farewell present on Senior Night! An INT of Marcel Reed in the red area and it looks like that might do it. Only about 3:30 remaining and it’s beginning to rain a little as well. Texas, with a first down, can put this one out of reach. KOBE BLACK!! Unbelievable moment for the Longhorn corner who comes away with a second INT of Reed’s in the last 45 seconds. The stadium is rocking like I’ve never seen! Tre Wisner owns Texas A&M. Pete Kwiatkowski dominates Final takeaway: It’s been a frustrating season, and tonight at times, it was frustrating on the field. But what a way to end 2025. Sweeping Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Arkansas is not nothing. It’s definitely notable. Texas also becomes the first team since 2019 to beat three top ten teams in a season. View full news story

Will Texas Spend Big in the Portal?
CJ Vogel replied to TexasFanatic's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Texas brought in 11 players a year ago out of the portal, many are contributors – Watson, Endries, Mosley, Kanu, Spence, Brevard plus the two specialists. What I mean by overcorrection in my original post is guys like Emmanuel Pregnon, Max Klare, Eric Singleton, etc. they don't leave campus uncommitted. Texas has done well at finding value in their portal pickups lately – and don't get me wrong, that is very important. But there should be no reason to penny pinch as long as your QB is Arch Manning. -

Will Texas Spend Big in the Portal?
CJ Vogel replied to TexasFanatic's topic in On Texas Football Forum
My estimation is they absolutely will. We will see how it plays out, but I am expecting Texas to be as active in the portal this year as they ever have been under Sarkisian. In a way, I expect it to be an overcorrection from last year. Every position will be reviewed and will be on the table for additions out of the portal. -
I could see Kelly at Penn State or UF as a very highly paid OC

4 assists already for Jordan Pope in the 2nd half. Texas is also 4-4 from deep. Probably a correlation there. -

Thats certainly a bright spot. Miller mentioned last week that he was hoping to see as many different defensive looks as possible in the non-con. -
