  1. Worth mentioning as well – WR Matthew Golden was in a green, non-contact jersey late last week. But I was told he is going to be good to go for Saturday.
  2. Sarkisian says he has not asked anyone if they are turning pro after the season. Says he wants to get them focused on what is at hand with the Playoff. Says those conversations will come at the conclusion of the season. i.e Ewers, Banks, Taaffe etc.
  3. Sarkisian says there has been a large focus on taking care of the football this week. Sometimes that goes to the playcalls as well as just the throws or rush attempts for Texas. Clemson has forced 25 turnovers and sit right around 3 sacks per game.
  4. #Texas QB Quinn Ewers came out to practice last week with no brace on his ankle says Steve Sarkisian.
  5. WR Isaiah Bond was shut down completely during the bye week, says Sarkisian. Sarkisian adds Bond "will do everything in his power to play this weekend."
  6. #Texas LT Kelvin Banks "was good last week" and Sarkisian says he was pleased with where he was at.
  7. Sarkisian says the Thursday coming back to practice was great energy with some giddiness. Says the team is excited to play in the playoff. And it was felt in practice last week.
  8. Steve Sarkisian says a pair of Longhorns who have entered the portal will stick with the team for the Playoff run: • DL Tia Savea • EDGE Justice Finkley He added a couple of others are still deciding.
  9. Sark on Klubnik: Highly competitive young man, we have known him for a long time since his time at Westlake. He is going to do whatever it takes to put his team in a position to win.
  10. Sark: "Clemson is a really good team. Dabo for a long, long time has been winning games at Clemson."
  11. #Texas DB Michael Taaffe: “Cade (Klubnik) is the most competitive player I’ve ever played with, and now against in my life.”
  12. Taaffe was asked if he is going pro. “My goal coming to Texas was to win a National Championship, everything else is in the future.”
  13. Michael Taaffe on the All-SEC selections: “When you are arguably the No. 1 defense in the country and only three guys get honors, obviously I’m surprised.”
  14. “Quinn is a baller, everything he does is for perfection.” — Taaffe
  15. Michael Taaffe says he is so excited to be a part of history with the first ever CFP game at DKR. “It will be a lot cooler if we are able to go finish the mission.”
  16. Jahdae Barron says he wasn’t going on stage for the Thorpe Award without having Andrew Mukuba and Michael Taaffe on stage with him. Says all three weren’t supposed to be at Texas. Barron was committed to Baylor, Mukuba went to Clemson and Taaffe didn’t have a scholarship. Yet it worked out and those three helped push him to win the award recognizing the best DB in the country.
  17. Andrew Mukuba says he was locker mates with Clemson QB Cade Klubnik. The two grew close as the only two from Austin at Clemson at the time. Calls him the ultimate competitor and someone that hates to lose.
  18. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian will be talking with the media Monday morning to discuss the Clemson Tigers and the College Football Playoff. There will be players both before and after available to the media as well. We will have updates in the comments down below.
  19. He committed to Ole Miss today.
  20. Klare wrapped up his visit to Austin late Friday and has since made his way over to College Station for a visit with A&M. There was perhaps some hope that Klare would lock this portal recruitment down after the trip, but that obviously is not the case and a trip to Oregon has become more of a possibility since his departure from Austin. Texas did a great job getting the early visit for Klare, whose stock has only risen since entering the portal. To finish the job, Texas will need to play the game of portal recruiting and NIL, as Klare and his camp know he is the top-rated tight end in the portal and will have his pick of where he plays football in 2025. The Longhorns will have to wait a bit on a decision from Klare, but they are in the thick of it now.
  21. … and Oklahoma’s locker room looks pretty thin. Navy was a 9-point underdog on Thursday. I’d be shocked if that line remains the same as the game nears .
