  1. Very inconsistent coach. National runner up, missed tournament, SS, likely missed tournament.
  2. Duke is 14-3 against Q1/2 teams, Texas is 8-14. Duke getting a #1 seed is absurd considering what the SEC and Big 12 have to play. Duke didn't play a single home game in conference against a Q1 team, we played 7.
  3. The two TOs before the missed layup were worse, especially the live ball TO that ended with a easy layup for OU. It was a 1 possession game at the time.
  4. I am warming up to Ivey. He'd definitely unite the former basketball players. Durant, Aldridge, and Ford would all love the hire. Texas needs a complete reset, and I am really not all that blown away with the typical retread coaches that are in their late 50s-60s. If Duke can turn the program over to a 1st time head coach, so can Texas.
  5. They will have to make it to the 3rd round at least. Beat Vandy, aggy, and Tennessee. They aren't beating Vandy so it really doesn't matter. The team that played yesterday is ready for the season to end.
  6. Yeah, he and his attorney really torpedoed any chance of him getting a end of year suspension. Not that was really on the table after the picture of him in the prison unis hit the internet. He was warned multiple times to leave the woman in Lubbock, so his/her combatitive relationship was a known quantity when he took the job.
  7. I like Miller a lot. Our half court offensive problems would disappear over night. Snyder seems like a retread hire that has never been great anywhere he has been. Ivey would likley get the basketball alums on board, but I feel wary of giving his 1st head coaching job in this meat grinder of a conference.
  8. Maybe he could have given at least 1 .... on defense every now and again and not thrown the ball away in clutch situations.
  9. Johnson is going pro, but he shouldn't. He's no where near ready, but he also didn't get much development from this Texas staff. They never cared that his defense was horrible with an obvious lack of effort, nor did they care about all the horrible shots he would take. 0fer in your last home game, which also likely sealed your post-season fate is certainly one way to go out.
  10. Texas clinches the #13 seed in the SEC tournament after last night's results. So far we have, #1 Auburn, #2 Florida, #13 Texas, #14 OU, #15 LSU, and #16 South Carolina. Georgia is still looking like our 1st round opponent, but MSU, Vanderbilt, or Arkansas depending on tie breakers could also there. MSU plays Arkansas and Vanderbilt plays Georgia on Saturday.
  11. I think to feel confident on Selection Sunday Texas needs to beat OU and win at least 2 in the SEC tournament. Right now, it looks like we would match up with Georgia in a loser misses the NCAAT 1st round game. Currently Missouri would likely be our 2nd round opponent. Get to 20 wins, I think we get at least a play-in game in Dayton.
  12. I think they need to beat OU on Saturday and win two in the SEC tournament to get to 20 wins to feel safe on selection Sunday. They lose at home against OU, they will have to win the SEC tournament, beat OU and win the opening round game, it will be a dicey scenario. Terry is a great guy off the court, he has shown his inability to put the pieces together for two seasons now, or prepare his teams with basic basketball fundamentals, i.e. not having anyone available in the middle of the court to beat a simple 2-2-1 press. Just like last season when you have a chance to get to the SS against #2 seed Tennessee and you let your PG commit 3 turnovers trying to inbound the ball. That being said, I would hate it for this team to not make the tournament given the individual talent we have. Tre's single season in Austin should be highlighted by a tournament run. Kent and Larry have never played in the tournament after getting screwed last season. Mark and Kaluma both left winning programs, chose poorly in their 1st transfers and missed the tournament last year. I don't think Terry can get this team far in the post-season, but individual talent wins in the tournament and this team has 3+ guys that completely take over games in Johnson, Kaluma, Mark, and "Pope."
  13. By in the end of the season they are going to be a Q3 loss? I guess they are still Q1, and their 5-8 record in Q1 games is really saving them right now. Ok, nevermind, their Net is 29, no way they are falling 72 spots.
  14. I think the Big West should get two this season. There is good basketball played in that league.
  15. Feels like a split this week @Ole Miss and @LSU would keep the momentum from last week's 2-0 record at home against two ranked teams.
  16. That was ugly, but missing Kaluma was a big reason aggy had a big offensive rebounding game. However, that win was big for the team's NCAAT chances.
  17. Pope, Larry, and Kaluma are one of the top 3 man rotations in all of college basketball. Those 3 need to play as much as possible together moving forward.
  18. Weaver shouldn't play much which he returns. There are too many guards already, and Terry is awful at rotations. Pope, Larry, Johnson, and Mark are all much better players than Weaver and their PT shouldn't be adjusted to make time for him.
  19. I mean if you want to think 2022 OSU (7-6) should be considered a ranked team then feel free.
  20. 6 straight games with a TO to end the season, multiple games with multiple TOs, every loss Texas had Ewers had at least 2 TOs. People like to fictionalize Ewers and keep thinking he was the reason Texas got good, the defense is the reason Texas made the CFP semi-finals the last 2 seasons, dragging Quinn with them.
  21. When your QB can only comprehend a fraction of the playbook and has no ability to make off-schedule plays with any type of consistency, you are limited as a playcaller. As bad as 2nd and goal was, had Quinn delivered a better pass to Golden it would have been a 40 yard TD instead of a 27 yard reception.
  22. Glad he's done. Could never elevate the team, when the team needed him the most he folded.
  23. This is going to be a really bad season. This team, while talented, does not play as a team. Everything is 1 on 1. No off ball movement and trying to create better shots for teammates.
  24. OU started 13-1 last year including winning their Big 12 opener against conference tournament champion ISU, then proceeded to those 11 of their final 18 games. Florida has also faced a pretty terrible OOC schedule, with their only true road game being Florida State.
