  1. 🤮 The best part of a 9 game conference schedule for Texas was the 4-4-1 break down. 3 conference home games is ridiculous.
  2. He played plenty at Alabama when he had experinced depth. Year one - Worthy, Whittington, Moore, Washington, and Dixon. After Whittington went down against OU and Moore mentally quit sometime after that it was not pretty. Year two - Worthy, Whittington, Cain, Hall, and Neyor, Neyor was hurt in fall practice and Hall was never mentally there. Year three - Worthy, Whittington, Mitchell, Cook, Neyor, Cain, Niblett and Moore. A little more depth, but Cook, Niblett, and Moore were freshmen. Neyor mentally never recovered and Cain is a JAG. Year four - Cook, Moore, Niblett, Bond, Bolden, Golden, Wingo, Butler, Dubose, Livingstone, and Cain. This is a healthy WR room. Lots of experience and talented underclassmen to push the upperclassmen. I can see 5-7 of those guys getting quality game reps this season.
  3. CSU reminds me of a more unathletic version of OU. They like to have their bigs run to the rim off the pnr, but they also turn the ball over a lot. I don't think Virginia scores 50 against air in their practice.
  4. I don't think either team matches up well against Texas. CSU doesn't have the size to bother Abmas, and if Hunter decides he wants to play defense, he can limit Stevens for CSU. Virginia just doesn't have the offensive talent to match Texas. They are one of the worst 10-0 run teams in the NCAAT, Texas is one of the most streakiest.
  5. You should get one portal transfer per season.
  6. Peja Jr. entered the portal yesterday. Texas finished 2nd to Stanford the 1st time around.
  7. There is nothing average about being a top 30 program in college basketball, in a rebuilding season. Many people don't realize the mess that Beard left in terms of returning talent and his poor roster management. Beard was looking at a full rebuild in year 3 of his tenure, that is just abysmal roster management.
  8. @Gerry Hamilton Peja Jr. entered the portal today. We finished 2nd, any chance he gives us a serious look. He had a typical freshmen year, but you have to love those bloodlines and the size he brings to the wing position.
  9. You literally said "dumbster fire". He also had a complete rebuild from the EE team, and brought in a Top 10 portal class along with a Top 10 HS class this season. Terry can recruit and the players are developing Disu, Hunter, and Mitchell are all shooting better this year than previous seasons. Unceremoniously disposed, they are a 7 seed they aren't supposed to make it to the 2nd weekend.
  10. I think we got a pretty good bracket. Tennessee doesn't have the kind of team wide shooting that can make you nervous, and their lead guard is a midget like ours. Going to be interested to see who wins that 10/10 1st round game. It is a contrast in styles.
  11. Weren't we a 6-seed against 11-seed VT and 3-seed Purdue?
  12. @Gerry Hamilton was there a reason that Beard didn't even try to recruit McCullar or Shannon to Texas out of the portal. Granted, Shannon is a POS, but I am wondering why he decided that having tall athletic wings was a bad idea at Texas.
  13. Horrible take by CJ. Cordova was involved, Texas should not be.
  14. The basketball team is in the Top 25 in every metric used to determine the strength of a team. It's not a dumpster fire.
  15. I like the current bracket as well, Dayton in the 8/9 and Purdue as the #1 seed. Purdue can be had in the 2nd round. They don't have Ivey and Williams anymore.
  16. Give me a bracket with a B1G team and UNC.
  17. Foster is interesting. He was horrible BTA at under .300, but plays bigger than his size. Also, don't like he had more TOs than assists. Did have a nice game last year against Virginia in their 1st round upset.
  18. I guess Beard wants to start mining the portal early, he declined the NIT.
  19. Do you expect them to do due diligence and make smart decisions. They just hired an AD that is a named defendant in a sexual misconduct lawsuit.
  20. Not sure it's going to matter, but we did finish 2nd in his recruitment, but Stanford fired their coach today. If Peja Jr. is looking to transfer, he's a guy would love to have.
  21. It's hilarious to see this bullshite when every sport in the NCAA is a playoff usually with 64 teams. Regular season games are still very important to the teams that want to make the playoffs from the other conferences, and for the best teams it means a bye or hosting a playoff game at home both are very important things. 16 teams is fine. I never understand people advocating for less college football.
  22. 30 OR for TCU. Sampson might stroke out when he sees stat sheet, that or he's going to get Knight's whip for motivation. I feel sorry for Tech (not really), they about to get murdered tomorrow.
  23. It's crazy that KJ Lacey wants a more aggressive timeline to the field than Arch Manning. Just look at Ewers 1st season in this system. He was not good. Last year was improvement, but also no where close to the stats that Tua and Mac Jones put up in this offense. Ewers should have close to 40 TDs passing next year, or I see it has a QB/offense that didn't maximize the talent and scheme.
  24. Their coach had a heart attack last year and put together one of the worst rosters KU has had. Next year, they will be starting over again as they will lose Dickinson, Furphy, and McCullar. It would be awesome if KJ Adams came home for his final season. The biggest obstacle for Self moving forward is UH and Arizona are better programs right now, and the Big 12 moving forward is going to a war. KU is going to struggle not to lose 3-5 on the road moving forward.
