Tulo is valuable to the staff and program for his help with the middle infielders and the mental approach to the game as much as anything else. Schloss has plenty of championship-caliber offenses in his career. Last year, the main problem was a lack of pitching depth. The pitchers got stretched beyond their means when Spencer went down. -

Thanks to a snag by Borba on a hard-hit liner to first, Volantis avoids getting burned by hitting the second batter of the inning. Borba's unassisted double play gets the game to the bottom the second, still scoreless.

I don't know if Rodriguez was trying to reach on a bunt or if it was a called sacrifice (I doubt it). Either way, Mendoza is in scoring position with one out.
