  1. Once the season starts, no one will care about portal news.
  2. A lot has been self inflicted. We are Texas! Actually like it.
  3. I thought that was really bush league to remove the portal trio from that pic. Whoever did that is truly petty. Come on, we are Texas. That was a really weak move.
  4. Such an inexact science. How do you measure heart, work ethic, fit, desire...the draft is basically a guessing game. There are busts annually. Once the players in the first round see the bag, many just lose the hunger for the game. The Rey Lewis's are few and far between.
  5. South Carolina is loaded. I don't know how some of these girls will get minutes. Jordan Lee is likely backing Tessa Johnson who is starting. Nice problems to have. We will see how much that talent can win.
  6. She improved over the course of the year. But we need an experienced post. We haven't heard anything about Lovisa or her development. At 6'6" she should be good. I mean she had to guard Kyla in practice.
  7. By my count, we will currently have 11 players on scholarship. He normally carries 12. I am sure he is poring over the portal for that one hooper. We need another post player. Currently we have: 2 post players: Brea Cunningham and Lovisa Hose 2 Power Forwards: Isi Etute, Bri Crittendon 2 Small Forwards: Madison Booker and Addison Bjorn (can also play shooting guard) 3 Point Guards: Bri Preston, Grace Prenter, Lizzy Spaight 2 shooting guards: Amalia Holguin and Zya Vann This is a good team but needs more experience off the bench.
  8. Coach loves his players but he prefers dogs. You can't play uninspired with how he coaches. Look at his track record. He doesn't owe anyone an apology. Would Kobe Bryant expect less? No way. He had 10 year olds learning the triangle for God's sake.
  9. South Carolina is going to be tough as nails annually. Signing Olivia Edwards was quite a coup. But there are plenty of talented players out there and we will get more than our share!
  10. The key was family. She missed her family. Coach Vic was hard on her because she only played inspired ball in spurts. He wanted her to be like Rori. Even Booker takes plays off.
  11. All fair points, however, there just comes a point that we have to move on. I am among the biggest fans of Longhorn women's hoops on here and was perplexed when the three entered the portal. But after a few days of doing my research, and a confidante within the program's analysis, I just figured it was time to focus on the positive. What are those? An amazing coaching staff, a head coach who wins, 5 incredible incoming recruits, and a rabid, loyal fan base. I am looking forward to next year. However, there still might be a surprise recruit or two knocking on our door.
  12. Coach Vic has had a great run since being here and I don't see that train slowing down. It's just that there are so many great teams out there nowadays. The talent at the high school and Euro level is really getting good too. These are not the same players that Cheryl Miller dominated.
  13. Good points. Jordan Lee was our biggest loss. Unfortunately, her parents saw her as their piggy bank.
  14. Well "re-build" has a negative connotation, however, the talent coming in is amazing. Unfortunately, we lost Rori to the draft. We will also miss Kyla. We won't miss the three portal transfers because Isi Itute is much better than Carlton, Bri Crittendon is better than Aaliyah Crump, and Addison Bjorn is bigger and just as good a shooter as Jordan Lee. Hopefully, Bri Preston can step in and run the team! It's interesting that Coach Vic had really been quiet throughout this process.
  15. At least he gives back!
  16. It turns out that every situation is different. I do know that Aaliyah Crump had forged a strong relationship with Duke prior to coming here. Coaches don't stop recruiting. Justice Carlton was homesick. And Jordan Lee's parents want a bigger bag! That's it. End of story.
  17. It could be a rebuilding year with the infusion of youth. I feel like the recruits coming in are all ballers with a lot of dog in them. Obviously, experience does matter. I would like another center with some games under her belt and maybe a power forward. Although, it appears like guard play wins the games. Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Ol'Miss, LSU, and Kentucky are going to be nightmares in the SEC.
  18. Other than Olivya Edwards, (doubt she comes here) Coach Vic might close it up. Which means he is satisfied with Lovisa's development. At 6'6", she is going to be that two headed monster he likes. Bri Preston staying is a very good sign. We just need to see who emerges as the shooting guard and the power forward. My guess is Addison Bjorn at the 2 and Isi Itute at the 4. Amanda Holguin will sub in for Bjorn, and Crittendon subs in for Itute or Booker. Meanwhile Lizzy Spaight comes in for Preston. That is a sweet rotation.
  19. I hated to see her portal. She must not have been happy. She felt Coach gave up on her. She had a lot of positive growth here. Wish her all the best.
  20. That is awesome. Should help in our quest for another Director's Cup .
  21. ...sure is big! LHN has Sark touring it and it is cavernous. The pics don't do it justice. Evidently, it should be ready in three months. I look forward to seeing the finished product. CDC said the current Bubble will be torn down and he is exploring putting in a new soccer stadium there. That would be really cool. Hope it happens.
  22. I am just really glad that Bri Preston stayed. Two years in the system, learning from Rori Harmon, played valuable, crucial minutes last year, she's now ready to be the starting point guard. She should improve her outside jump shot so that would make her game even better!
