  1. Just me, but I believe he's going to be very strong in evaluation. Putting a roster together. Miller won't have the same NIL behind him Sark has, to be clear.
  2. All depends on what your definition of elite is. For some it's National Title, for some it's multiple final fours, or a final four on a resume. For me, Sean Miller is an elite current college basketball coach with four Elite Eight's, 22-13 in the NCAA Tournament and 8 Sweet 16 appearances. But I view how difficult winning is in the NCAA Tournament differently than some others. If someone's only measuring stick is a Final Four appearance to be Elite ... would you take Kevin Keatts over Sean Miller, or is he an elite coach over Miller? Not me!!! Current college basketball coaches with more NCAA Tournament wins than Miller: Tom Izzo John Calipari Bill Self Rick Pitino Mark Few Rick Barnes Kelvin Sampson Matt Painter Thad Matta Sean Miller is No. 10. If Miller is at Texas for 7-8 years, I'm betting he'll add another Elite Eight or two ... I hope he gets to the FF to complete the coaching resume, but it's not a given.
  3. BTW, what are the odds Texas could miss both Lagway and Mateer? I know someone stepped on Lagway's toe, but just throwing it out there
  4. He's flying to Los Angeles to have surgery from the guy that operated on Drew Brees, Mike Trout, etc... he's out for Texas-OU. Question is if/when he's back this season
  5. For sure! Will have a story today ... and get the talk going. Texas hired a terrific coach that develops players.
  6. Dude has taken a physical beating the last two weeks for sure
  7. But nothing NFL was posted ... that's just you. Colt McCoy held a clip board for 20+ million, but played at a very high level in college without being a high-end down field arm talent. As far as Mendoza and ability to make throws down the field ... he made plenty at Cal last year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWbZ4TkIRo&t=131s He'll be an interesting NFL eval prospect
  8. What does that have to do with anything I posted?
  9. Florida biggest boosters want Lane Kiffin. We shall see
  10. Nothing of note yet. There will have to be some NIL compromise on this one ... from both sides. Oregon went whole hog on it to get the commitment.
  11. Have not heard any movement there ... yet. Texas working on Jalen Lott the most right now.
  12. That’s my concern Texas vs Tennessee But the communication has begun again
  13. Senior HUDL https://www.hudl.com/profile/19604184/Dre-Quinn
  14. Texas and Clemson 4-star commit Dre Quinn OnTexasFootball can report that the Texas staff definitely remains in contact with 4-star+ EDGE and Clemson verbal Dre Quinn (Buford, Ga./High). Quinn was recently on a visit to Tennessee for the Georgia game. The Vols are a serious player. Quinn picked Clemson over Texas June 19, due in part to Texas having a loaded EDGE depth chart. We shall see if that thought process changes, but OTF feels comfortable saying the Texas staff would certainly entertain a flip of the 6-4, 230-pounder wanted to play for the Longhorns.
  15. If I was a long suffering Indiana basketball fan, absolutely!
  16. The Cal transfer now at Indiana impressed last year in some late night games. At Indiana this season, he's playing on a total other level Vs. Illinois yesterday: 21 of 23 for 267 yards and 5 TD's last week vs. Indiana State (yes bad team): 19 of 20 for 270 yards and 5 TD's I don't care if you are playing against Hemphill High and Hardin High in back-to-back games, 40 of 43 is a wild number over a two game stretch. Through four games: 76 of 99 for 975 yards and 14 TD's with 0 INT's Indiana is a better team this season, but doesn't mean they will make playoffs. At Oregon and at Penn State loom ... so they have to avoid an upset around those two.
  17. You hope to see these kids maximize their ability. For Cook, he had to hit rock bottom for him and his circle to wake up to the changes Johntay had to make to be successful.
  18. There's a reason Texas didn't go there.
  19. Five years to play. Five to play five
  20. Per more than one college coach in both football and basketball, coaches are expecting the NCAA five years to play rule to be announced soon. When that is - some believe could be prior to basketball season. What it means is no more redshirt years. A college athlete will have five years to play, period. There are a number of ways to put those five years together, ie... two years at JUCO and three DI, etc... How that could effect the Texas football or basketball teams this year (all sports). Someone that is in year four right now, and currently scheduled to run out of eligibility after the 2025 football season ... are expected to get a fifth year. So a player such as DJ Campbell, Cole Hutson, Travis Shaw, Ethan Burke in football would have another year if they desired or were wanted by Texas. In hoops, Chendall Weaver and Jordan Pope would be eligible.
