  1. OTF Live: Edna Karr High in New Orleans New Orleans, La - OTF is spending a couple of hours at Edna Karr High this afternoon. Texas 4-star commit Hayward Howard Jr. is playing both corner and free safety this year. The Edna Karr staff believes he may end up being a 6-4, 195-200 pound safety with ball skills and range. Staff believes his best ball is way out in front of him. Doesnt turn 18 until July
  2. Marcus Freeman is the No. 1 target, for Florida and Penn State, as he absolutely should be when looking at a tremendous hire for 8-10 years for a school like Florida.
  3. Haha @Joe Zura I was told that Sunday that Napier will likely be fired prior to the Georgia game. If he upsets Georgia and goes on a little run to get to 7-5, that's not the desired outcome.
  4. Would give Texas a better option of working Bishop at corner ... if they went that direction.

  7. that's Assuming Nagy is back if Venables is fired OU AD and higher ups will have most say. Oklahoma will have tough time getting an AD they want/need if they tell the guy Jim Nagy is making the FB hire. I would laugh and say no thanks. But just me!
  8. That's a big part of this IMO. Who does the new AD have ties to No. 1.
  9. Kinne needs to win some more games this year IMO Don't think Traylor will leave for a bad situation in P4 ... he's turned down a number of P4's in the last 2-3 years If Baylor opened up, both would try there. Kinne would be the popular pick of media because his dad played there.
  10. It's imperative. Not sure you will bring 100% of the same emotion as last week. That's human nature. But if the team doesn't bring the physicality to the road this week, it will become a danger zone game. Kentucky isn't as talented as past teams under Stoops, but they seemingly play into the 4th quarter against teams better/more talrnted every year at home. Ole Miss 30-23 this year Georgia 13-12 and Vanderbilt 20-13 last year etc...
  11. For sure! Not as top end talented as some former Mark Stoops teams, but they play 4th quarter games every year with teams more talented.
  12. The line opens at Texas -12.5 O/U: 41.5
  13. No. 21 Texas at Kentucky: It's a night game! Texas will take on the Kentucky Wildcats at 6 pm. CST on Saturday, on ESPN.

  15. A new 2026 name on the radar One of the 2026 prospects on hand in Dallas for the Texas 23-6 win over Oklahoma was Dylan Waters (Missouri City, Texas/Marshall). The 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback is putting together a very impressive senior campaign for the Buffaloes on both sides of the ball. Waters committed to Utah over UCLA June 24 after making official visits to both. Texas cornerbacks coach Mark Orphey stopped by Marshall High prior to the Longhorns flying out to Florida to watch Waters up close in a practice. Since that time, Orphey has been in touch with the circle of Waters in the last week or so. While an offer hasn't been extended to this point, this is a prospect Texas is making an extended senior eval on.
  16. Not at all. IMO, he needs to get to 8-4
  17. What I'm saying is it will be for the next coach. It's absolutely set up that way because Franklin had better success than many coaches, but couldn't get over the hump. Now the next hire will be super duper hyped up and paid 11-12 million. He will be "the guy" to take Penn State to the next level and back to the JoePa NC days. And if he only delivers 11-3 and a couple of playoff appearances in his first four years, at least 50% of the fan base will be ready to kick him to the curb too.
  18. We live in a time where 40-50% of Kansas fans want Bill Self gone. He's won 2 NC's, but has early flame outs in the NCAA Tournament. 75% of UConn fans wanted Danny Hurley fired after first two seasons when he didn't make the NCAA Tournament. On the Texas basketball side... the expectation is Sean Miller has to get Texas to a Final Four for his tenure to be success by many. Texas basketball has been to one Final Four since 1947. He could do very well and get to two Elite Eight's in the next 7-8 years, it won't be enough for a lot of fans even though Texas has very near zero history of being a Final Four program. But with the $$$ these guys make now a days, it amps up the expectations even more - even when they are unrealistic. I'm not crying for coaches making 5-10 mill to be clear, but it's just where college athletics is right now, and will only get worse in the future IMO. Coaching salaries and NIL have hit the accelerator faster than Georgia football players
  19. If he goes 5-7 or 6-6 after 2-10, it's probably on the table He's 36-30, 20-23 in ACC But it's a lot of $$$ too
  20. That's unrealistic for me. We just have a difference of opinion. If the CFP 12 team playoff has been around the last nine years, Penn State would have been to 4-5 playoffs. And it still wouldn't be enough. NC or bust mentality will lead to plenty more failure than success, but it's the nature of the beast. Seven programs have won NC's since 2011. Of the 15 titles, nine were won by four coaches. Now we enter the 12 and soon to be 16 team playoff. I'll be interested to see how playoff appearances change the expectations in the future. Winning an NC is extremely difficult. It's not a given, even for the blue bloods now due to the portal and NIL. If a fan base is NC or bust, 95% or more of fan bases will be in a never satisfied vicious circle.
