  1. Happy for Alfred and his family. He could of bailed for a more opportune situation when he was passed over or when Bo left, but he kept working and gets rewarded with generational wealth.🤘
  2. Also big props to @Jeff Howe for pointing out that all fanbases engage in such thinking - when we get a commit, it's because of the program and the relationships, when "they" get the commit it's the bags. Many of us did it (myself included) when Ojo committed to Tech. It's just human nature, but not used to seeing such intellectual honesty in a discussion of SEC football 🤘😉 Edit: To be clear, we're fortunate that we have mods that don't go beyond matter-of-fact statements about larger NIL deals during these discussions and not equating players taking those deals to moral failures.
  3. …and guess who is at his elbow? Cody Campbell.
  4. I suspect Beck will regress to the mean, which is much better than his stats last year. One thing is objectively true - his WRs at UGA had really bad years.
  5. It was very Aggy and I suspect they did have something to do with it. If you think they're above that, it's the same sorry group that threw horse sh*t on our band barely 20 years ago.
  6. He's played a game as Texas HC in Collie Station. He knows the Aggie War Hymn.
  7. This rankings update was approached as a "tweak" and not a complete overhaul. It comes following the completion of key summer events (Elite 11 Finals, OT7 Championship, Texas 7v7 state tournament, the final few Under Armour regional showcases and college camps around the country). ...and they moved Ojo up two spots?
  8. No expert, but I think the slot values are below $300,000 around middle of seventh round. Should be possible for those guys to make that in another year of NIL?
  9. Didn't Ojo drop like 40 spots on Rivals today and lose his fifth star?
  10. Somebody got @Gerry Hamilton a real mic! Too bad he's not doing the manscape and joymode reads any longer.
  11. You could hear his eyes light up. He's been a statewide name since he was offered as an edge in jr. high, started/starred at Grayson as a freshman at LB and had 188 tackles (compared to starting at Duncanville as a freshman) and is a certain NFL player (I think he said first round). Also said whatever happens with his commitment, UGA stays on him until Dec. ...basically, Atkinson is already something of a legend in Georgia.
  12. Loved Brooks Austin's take on Atkinson this morning on C&F.
  13. Assuming that's summer league ball, @Blake Munroe?
  14. Was the "valid business purpose" language in the settlement? The logic in the "terse letter" from the House plaintiffs makes no sense. I guess the entire argument surrounds whether collectives serve a "valid business purpose" beyond recruiting enticements?
  15. Good luck to Heze, great name that I won't forget when he sees the field in a couple of years.
  16. The old lockers are still for sale through UT Surplus. https://swicoauctions.com/online/26/item/258726
  17. Whatever the case, families are being misled or don't understand their deals. There is going to be a lot of movement this cycle.
  18. For reference, here's Phil's "Individual Units" rankings for the best TEXAS team in my lifetime - 2005. QB - 2 RB - 25 WR - 21 OL - 1 DL - 2 LB - 25 DB - 5 ST - NR Hopefully, the 2025 OL and DL outperform Phil's rankings.
  19. Mad Dog's mustache is cool again.
  20. I'm starting to really like this guy.
  21. No disrespect, but if you grew up in Texas you wouldn't ask this question. They're like mosquitoes. Pretty harmless, but so annoying and persistent that you grow to hate them. Plus they sometimes cause serious disease, like the time the Aggy governor filled the UT Board of Regents with a bunch of saboteurs.
  22. Is there any player we've missed on this cycle with a bigger upside at his position than what's on campus? Maybe it's wiser to go with the bird in hand. I'd also prefer to be straight with families about the current NIL uncertainty rather than promising them bullish*t. I suspect there will be a ton of movement this fall when recruits see their contracts in writing.
  23. There are 5M people in Alabama. There are 31M people in Texas. SEC brass needs to be reminded of this...
