  1. I'm eager to hear Gerry's responses, but I have to laugh after the going through 13 years with no depth at QB and sometimes barely a viable starter.
  2. They definitely seem to have some motivated boosters for NIL. Not enough to sustain an entire roster to compete nationally, but seems they're being strategic in focusing on a handful of high-profile targets. For some perspective, Mike White (at last count) made ~ $625K a year as HC of Texas Softball. Can't find Glasco's salary at TTU, but he was making $225K at UL-La. Weird deal. I guess softball will be returning to Olympics in 2028, maybe there's an angle there with Adidas etc.
  3. Appreciate the off-season baseball coverage. 🤘
  4. from Palo Alto to .... Lubbock. 🤣 I guess she's from Kansas and Lubbock is like Kansas sans any vegetation.
  5. wtf. From Stanford to ..... Texas Tech.
  6. Good points. I think we're about to see a lot of smaller schools drop football. I know most don't care, but this would seem to really change the CFB landscape.
  7. …and how the hell will this be implemented? Add 20 scholarships in one year? That will be like an infusion of ~40 new players next year.
  8. Weren’t we concerned about scholarship reductions just six weeks ago? What changed?
  9. We run a 2-4-5, we're fine at DT.
  10. He's been a head coach for two years. He was a DC for two years under Kirby Smart (in other words, he had a pretty easy DC job). I don't think we necessarily know what type of coach Lanning is or how he runs his program. In fact, it looks like he may be running his program a lot like Jimbo.
  11. Joey The Mouth will coast on the Micah Hudson recruitment for another 3 years.
  12. Awesome game environment - their stadium's capacity is 54,000. That's indicative of the interest in Oregon Football in Oregon. ..but go on, "do something different".
  13. I know this is an old thread, but ol' Trev confirmed to the Houston Chron that he knew Schloss was leaving before the CWS. As the Aggies advanced in the postseason, Alberts sensed something was amiss and met with Schlossnagle. “I said, ‘Are you frustrated? Is there anything I can do?’” Alberts said, according to the Houston Chronicle. “And at the end of the conversation I said, ‘Jim, if you’re not happy here and you want to leave, that’s OK. But please don’t hurt our program and don’t hurt our kids.’ That’s what I said.
  14. Your son got a glove "made for him"? Sounds like he's part of the problem, when I played baseball you got a raw piece of leather and formed it into a mit with blood, sweat and pure effort. I kid, I kid, Blake, that's a pretty cool story 🤘
  15. "The State Antiquities Landmark status is the highest level of historic destination (sic) from the state, according to the Texas Historical Commission. Properties with the status must have a permit from the Texas Historical Commission before they are removed, altered, damaged, salvaged or excavated. The commission’s Antiquities Advisory Board recommended in April that the full commission give landmark status to the social work building." That's the key paragraph. Regardless of whether the highest level of historic designation is granted, it will just require a permit to be demolished and the entire membership of that commission was appointed by the sitting Governor. They'll incorporate an existing hall or classroom or facade into the design of the practice facility and it will get done. Just a matter of time.
  16. Might be waiting awhile, that site might be in jeopardy- https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/state-commission-could-give-landmark-status-for-historic-ut-austin-building-set-to-be-demolished/
  17. The "Hi" has never been a "crystal ball" or "RPM". A "Hi" is a privilege for a privileged audience. Y'all going to FAFO and ruin it for those of us that can handle the vicissitudes of recruiting. (my weekend tantrums notwithstanding)
  18. Also, the Big XII media days appear to be sponsored by Totino's. As a lover of frozen pizzas, I'm still embarrassed for Brett. I was hoping it was a casino I'd never heard of, but nope it's $1.97 Totino's in your frozen pizza section.
  19. To answer my own question above, this was an interview at BigXII media days. I don't understand the math, but definitely seems calculated.
  20. I've thought many times over the years, "Gundy's trying to get fired". Unfortunately, Boone is dead and Gundy's been there so long, nobody in Stillwater is can call him on his bullsh*t. Is that the BigXII media days?
  21. https://facilitiesservices.utexas.edu/services/surplus-property-moving-services/surplus-reuse-store I've never seen scoreboards there, but I have seen lots of football and baseball and basketball unis and those little traffic booths that used to be at each entrance to San Jacinto sold there.
  22. Appreciate your work, @Chasing Clouds 🤘
  23. Penn State over Florida State? Penn State over Nebraska? Penn State over Florida? I guess we need an operational definition of "blue blood". Lot's of recency bias in that list, but agree, interesting conversation.🤘
  24. I don't think it's any coincidence that Sark's X account tweeted - "THE PRIDE AND WINNING TRADITION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WILL NOT BE ENTRUSTED TO THE WEAK OR TIMID" this weekend. I think the Duncanville kid burned that bridge. Good luck to his family, they seem like good people.
  25. @Blake Munroe any chance he ever sees campus or is he a MLB draft lock? Looks like he's projected in upper half of draft?
