    I'm eager to hear Gerry's responses, but I have to laugh after the going through 13 years with no depth at QB and sometimes barely a viable starter.

    They definitely seem to have some motivated boosters for NIL. Not enough to sustain an entire roster to compete nationally, but seems they're being strategic in focusing on a handful of high-profile targets. For some perspective, Mike White (at last count) made ~ $625K a year as HC of Texas Softball. Can't find Glasco's salary at TTU, but he was making $225K at UL-La. Weird deal. I guess softball will be returning to Olympics in 2028, maybe there's an angle there with Adidas etc.

    Good points. I think we're about to see a lot of smaller schools drop football. I know most don't care, but this would seem to really change the CFB landscape.

    He's been a head coach for two years. He was a DC for two years under Kirby Smart (in other words, he had a pretty easy DC job). I don't think we necessarily know what type of coach Lanning is or how he runs his program. In fact, it looks like he may be running his program a lot like Jimbo.

    I know this is an old thread, but ol' Trev confirmed to the Houston Chron that he knew Schloss was leaving before the CWS. As the Aggies advanced in the postseason, Alberts sensed something was amiss and met with Schlossnagle. “I said, ‘Are you frustrated? Is there anything I can do?’” Alberts said, according to the Houston Chronicle. “And at the end of the conversation I said, ‘Jim, if you’re not happy here and you want to leave, that’s OK. But please don’t hurt our program and don’t hurt our kids.’ That’s what I said.

    "The State Antiquities Landmark status is the highest level of historic destination (sic) from the state, according to the Texas Historical Commission. Properties with the status must have a permit from the Texas Historical Commission before they are removed, altered, damaged, salvaged or excavated. The commission’s Antiquities Advisory Board recommended in April that the full commission give landmark status to the social work building." That's the key paragraph. Regardless of whether the highest level of historic designation is granted, it will just require a permit to be demolished and the entire membership of that commission was appointed by the sitting Governor. They'll incorporate an existing hall or classroom or facade into the design of the practice facility and it will get done. Just a matter of time.

    I don't think it's any coincidence that Sark's X account tweeted - "THE PRIDE AND WINNING TRADITION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WILL NOT BE ENTRUSTED TO THE WEAK OR TIMID" this weekend. I think the Duncanville kid burned that bridge. Good luck to his family, they seem like good people.
