  1. I'd like to see Gibson and Clark get some reps, see what else is there at RB. Continue easing Baxter back in as he gets himself back up to speed, etc. Same with WR and TE, let Arch open it up and get into his groove.
  2. Honestly with the day he had, to come back and throw some of the passes he did, shows he was starting to get into his own but unfortunately time ran out and he still made some bad throws towards the end. But as people much smarter and knowledgeable than me have said, there was some good mixed in with the bad.
  3. He had to know expectations were high after taking the job from a literal legend of the game, no? I doubt he gets fired, although 8-4 might get some more interesting calls from Bama fans onto Finebaums show lol.
  4. This is just really stupid. You have yourself a great opportunity and you're doing your best to piss it away. Probably won't get kicked off the team, but with Sark there will definitely be a punishment.
  5. That's what Baxter would've been if not for his injury last year. The fact he even played against Ohio State is a damn miracle lol.
  6. Arch is our guy, not sure why people are wanting Sayin over him. Sayin did next to nothing special, he threw that TD pass that wasn't great and if Guilbeau turns around could've probably picked off, if not swatted away. If they had to put the ball in his hands to win them the game, I don't know if he could. Because then you're asking him to do more than you wanted and Texas would've pinned their ears back and gotten after him. Because they would've moved away from 12 personnel and moved back to likely either 11 or 10 personnel.
  7. I think 7 is fair, was expecting not to drop out of the top 10. Not worried about the rankings just go out and do your jobs, uphold the standard and that will take care of itself.
  8. Our guys are fast, did we miss them getting open against an elite secondary? Hell even Endries is fast and Townsend/Washington are good athletes at TE. I agree right now we don't have a speed guy at RB, Baxter still working his way back from injury but he's not that type of guy and Wisner isn't either. I've no idea if Clark could be but he didn't see any action. Plus Manning has some legs. I'm not concerned overall but I did think they could've done better in the portal at WR with what was available but t hey were also in the midst of a playoff run, so it's hard to split your focus like this.
  9. So we should be worried about Florida because they have talented starters but so do we....I understand being "worried" about them but your team now has experience in a hostile environment against great competition. I think the boys will be fine, as long as they execute and be more disciplined. Plus if Ohio State was meant to have this great OL, are we saying Florida has a better one? They have better WR's? They might have a better RB, I'll give them that. Do they have superior LB's and DB's? I'm all for respecting an opponent but this team has already been through a tough road game against a great opponent. If they get rattled on the road against Florida, then they don't deserve to be in the SEC title game or in the playoffs.
  10. Well that and it was rushed, O didn't even get a chance to get set. I know they didn't put a ton of trust in Arch but some bootleg passes wouldn't have killed them, to Endreis. I think Gerry or someone mentioned this a year or so ago, Sark is great between the 20's but once the field condenses he seems to not be able to figure it out. Not all the time, obviously but it is becoming an noticeable trend for his teams.
  11. But can't we say the same? If things click our way, you guys are looking at 21-0 the other way. I wouldn't say it was a domination. Outside of some lucky plays by our O, we shut it down and our O sh*t the bed when we needed them to score. Either way, I'm not going to argue with you. Congrats on the win.
  12. I saw several games this weekend t hat did similar. They need to figure something out there. Between the 20's, Sark is great, once the field gets condensed he loses his mojo and over thinks it.
  13. I'm not sure who's in the booth for games, but you're right. How you see that and aren't telling Sark to take a time out to figure something else out.
  14. They knew where it was going, not a great idea at all. Half their D is crashing the line. How many guys is Hutson supposed to block, 3 guys crashing right at him. At least a hand off to Baxter gives him a chance, imo.
  15. Hey Jeff. I know Brooks is slated as a T and I'm fine with that but talking about next year's OL (I know, I know lol) would we benefit from putting him at G, assuming T depth is sorted, if Goosby comes back? That way you'd have assumed starters of LT - Goosby, LG - Stroh, C - Cruz, RG - Brooks, RT - Baker. Anyway, just a hypothetical I was thinking about. Good write up, per usual.
  16. I think this is pretty spot on. Not sure what Sark needs to do better play design/calling wise, but he seemed pleased with the calls in that 1st half, so not sure it's going to change. Seems like a lot of us underestimated Patracia's D and his influence on it. Seems like it rattled Arch more than we thought. Arch seemed to have the tips from the get go, that first pass of his might've been the warning sign. He got it going late in the game but by then still too late and still making some poor decisions.
  17. Considering how much better Beck looked against ND with Miami, I'd say Ewers not coming back somewhere else for another year was maybe a mistake on his part. We'll see how Beck does on the season, but he was a big reason they won that game, imo. Not sure who the rumored team was that wanted him but I do admire his loyalty to Texas and not wanting to play for anyone else. I just wonder if another year in college would've benefited him. As in if the guy sitting behind him wasn't Arch Manning, does he come back for another year?
  18. I like these cut ups vs teams. I'll post the O here, as it's every offensive play against Ohio State. If you want to watch the D, you can find it on this guys channel. The other guy I used to watch that made these, stopped doing them this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96PtApR4fn0
  19. Yeah I corrected myself in another comment, couldn't edit that one for some reason.
  20. I disagree, if you hand it off to Baxter on the goal line, instead of having Arch run it, those are TD's. There was push there. Because they converted several 3rd downs via running the ball, which were 3&2, etc.
  21. Actually looking at it closer, that looks like Spencer Shannon, #83. I think Endries is #88. But still, he was wide open on that drag route, the S or CB was being blocked in the end zone. All he had do was turn and plow into the end zone. That felt like an all game thing for him. He was barely under any pressure, even in this one, perfect OL block, has plenty of time, still makes the wrong read.
  22. If he looks to his left, he had Endries wide open, I believe.
  23. OL was definitely a plus. They had some bad moments but overall for a brand new OL on the road against Ohio State, they did a great job. In both run blocking and pass pro. There was many times that Arch had loads of time in the pocket, even when they brought pressure.
  24. Well you won't have to wait 5 years, we play next year in Austin lol.
