  1. I don't mind Baker, he's only a SO but you might be right. Not a fan of having FR on the OL. Maybe Cojoe would've been better before the injury?
  2. This next 4 weeks is going to be brutal for Napier and Florida. With all that talent, they still couldn't beat USF at home. Not only that, you're facing some really good teams. I'm not sure he survives the year.
  3. I'm not about going off the PFF scaling, but that's my opinion. I'm not a fan of rotating OL, but that's my opinion. I think you need to do it like this. LT - Goosby, LG - Umeozulu, C - Hutson, RG - Campbell, RT - Baker. I think that's your best OL, right now. I thought Stroh did well last week, but against the SJSU front he got caught with cement feet more times than not and really missed some blocks. I think Umeozulu moves better and continues going after guys, etc. I don't think they played terribly, they're still trying to find their groove. Also don't understand the Hutson hate, he's been good for us ever since his Fr year. Though I'd like to see him be a bit more aggressive.
  4. I didn't think we'd be going after more DT's, I love it. Stack the room Coach Baker! Someone tell Flood he needs to go out and do the same lol.
  5. I think my only negative of that group is maybe Kanu? The few times I remember seeing him, he got washed out of the play, thrown to the ground, etc. Maybe that's nit picky. But I think it's Watson, who does this nasty spin move several times, that sh*t was wild lol.
  6. One thing I'll say about Mateer is he is very shifty. But him running that much is not a great idea. You just spy that with guys like Hill or Smith and hope he throws one of those ducks up that he got lucky with several times last night. Michigan should've picked him off like 2-3 more times than they did lol. Had to mute the audio with how much Herbstreit and Fowler were drooling over him.
  7. Sorry, I didn't mean my comment to mean he played bad. I actually thought he was much improved from a week ago. Went through his progressions properly, etc. You're right that penalties and drops were much more impactful today. But there is some clear progression there. I'd love to see the younger WR's like McHutcheon, Lockett and Ffrench get some run. We need to see what we've got and no better time than the next few weeks. Plus Wingo needs to snap out of this fuzz he has himself in. Hope Moore is okay, too. Livingstone has been a bright spot, despite a few things from him (believe he had a penalty or two). Also, when I say see the field, I don't mean he needs to force plays down the field. I just think he needs more game experience, which is obvious. He's making the progression that we and I'm sure Sark wants. He's getting better and that's all you can really ask. By the mid point of the season, I think he's going to be humming really well.
  8. I didn't expect them to come out firing, but I did expect a bit more than I've seen so far. Not that I'm thoroughly disappointed or think the season is lost, far from it. I believe that things will continue to improve, perhaps I just had my expectations too high but I do believe they'll get it clicking eventually. There is flashes of it but just too much nonsense going on today. Ironically Arch was good today (outside of some stuff I've said elsewhere) it was penalties and drops that really hurt him today. OL also looked a lot more shaky today than it did last week.
  9. Well so far, he seems to be the only WR doing much of anything and most people certainly didn't have that penciled in to start. Moore has been pretty unimpressive so far. Though he did go out injured in this one, I believe. Wingo last week had some pretty bad passes thrown his way and then turned around and didn't help his QB out in this one. It's going to take a while to switch on for some of these guys (not just the WR either). I have to agree with Bobby's assessment before the season, that this team will look completely different the 2nd half of the season. The question is, will they still be in a position to play for the SEC championship/playoffs? I believe they will be.
  10. My only complaint about Arch or several, is that he needs to start seeing the field better and I think more game time will help with that and he needs to be more consistent on drives and not just go for the big plays. We'll see how he progresses these next couple of weeks. My concern is those around him, too many WR drops and poor play there, etc. We had penalties from the OL and WR that brought plays back. Tons to clean up, but I'm certain the coaches know that.
  11. Hope January gets back. I was pretty disappointed with Kanu's play today, every time I saw him out there he was getting rag dolled or bullied. Might have been the worst of the bunch when it comes to DL transfers (my opinion). Everyone else there is really good. I've no idea who's doing those spin moves on the interior but holy crap were those exciting. Anyway, enough of my nonsense. Thanks for keeping us up to date, Jeff.
  12. I'm not going to lie, this is the second week in a row that he is grimacing when throwing like that. It also might explain his poor mechanics? But if he is injured, then it's a poor job by the staff of not seeing it and fixing it. Right now I'll choose to believe he's not injured and it's just people nit picking certain things.
  13. A lot of teams did struggle, that is true. Get the penalties down, be more consistent on O and establish yourself, that would be great.
  14. Who did we have a chance to land in the portal at WR? I'll give a mulligan for that, as I believe it was smack bang in the middle of the playoffs, no? But I don't remember us being a favourite for any WR's.
  15. believe it was later in that season when Thompson went out with Injury and it might've been WV or someone like that. He came in and played pretty well. He also came in during '22 when Ewers got hurt in that Bama game. Even though he was banged up himself. That might be the game you're talking about.
  16. I agree, Wingo needs to up his game. He looks like he doesn't even want to be there lol. Which is odd. Stroh definitely didn't have a good game where he had a better one against Ohio State. Disagree taht he doesn't need to be on the field, he just needs to get better/consistent, like most of the team. Niblett is a bit of a disappointment because he has some game changing speed but that's about it. Suppose the positive is that they have a few gimmes to get things sorted/fixed.
  17. That is a definite concern. 2-12 against SJSU. The score isn't what bothers me, it's the execution and lack of consistency. It's the sloppiness and laziness getting 12 penalties. I saw Simmons jump offsides 2 or 3 times.
  18. I think if you don't get Ewers in the portal, he definitely would've gone after someone else. No idea what happened to Card thought he would be a better prospect but after that beating he took after the Arky game he never really seemed to be the same.
  19. Lol coming out of the half, Michigan RB Haynes goes to the house for a long TD run. That looked way too easy on this "elite" DL of Oklahoma.
  20. Mateer looks pretty decent against Michigan 12-18 160 yards 1 td and 1 int. He also happens to be their leading rusher with 9 carries for 30 yards and another td. Seems like he is their offense at the moment. Up 14-0 on Michigan at half time right now. Any other games of interest right now?
  21. He had bad moments in all his years here, I guess people forget his first season here and the up's/downs. He definitely is no bum though and deserved his place here.
  22. I always appreciated Quinn but let's not pretend like he didn't have some bad games himself. Though I can't deny a 4th year starting QB coming back would've been great but he definitely had way more weapons than Arch has at the moment. If our top WR is Parker Livingstone, that is not a good thing (no offense to Parker he's my dude). So far Wingo not living up to his hype or level, Moore has been MIA, although I know he's injured. But before I get side tracked again, love Quinn and everything he did here at Texas, the good, the bad and the ugly. That guy is always going to be a Longhorn.
  23. We got two weeks to sort out our issues, they got two weeks of getting beat the f*ck up lol.
  24. If they are 1-3 coming into that game, I hope they're prepared to be 1-4.
  25. Hey talk to 'em bro LOL.
