  1. I like that Coach Sark has changed his thought process on his QB's. Before he wanted statues like Ewers and Owens but since then he's landed Manning, Lacey and now Bell. All are very mobile QB's, who can make all the throws he wants. Need your QB to be mobile these days. Even looking at the NFL with how mobile QB's are now.
  2. He tried a few guys, Golding, Odum I think when he was at Arky. I don't think he went after PK at first because no one thought he'd leave that area of the country and go down to Texas. Though I would've been happy to keep Coach Ash, I thought he was pretty good. Same with Giles, he recruited really well.
  3. Wasn't this the DC t hat Sark tried to bring with him when he first came to Texas? Maybe it was a good thing he didn't.
  4. Ah good call on Tate, I had completely forgotten about him being a stud in that game. Either way, we'll definitely have our hands full. Will really test the communication and skill of the secondary. Good thing is, all of them are 3+ year guys now. That helps a lot and having been in the same system. Should be a fun battle. If the pass rush can get home and rattle Sayin, will be a long day for the Ohio State O. I'm kinda disappointed it's not a night game but it'll still be awesome to see our Longhorns go in there and battle hard.
  5. I'm pretty sure I was reading that they consider the OU game eithe away (even years) or home (odd years). So does that count for the home and away games or no? Because I was reading the SEC considers it that way. Because technically, we're the "home" team in the RRR this year.
  6. Holy baby Jesus, look at the line up for that show. Congrats on getting this set up Blake, look forward to seeing this.
  7. Yeah I agree, Brock Bower was a special talent at TE, Klare is good but no way would I compare him to Bowers lol.
  8. Klare is good but he's nowhere near Bowers, that's a crazy comparison lol. Good TE but I don't know if I'd go that far. Agree with you about Smith, but Tate and Innis aren't on the same level as Egbuka, imo. He was a legit 1st round talent and a stud at WR with Smith. I don't recall Tate having a big game against us but I'd have to go and look it up. I think Texas needs to get pressure and rattle Sayin, get in his head. They'll also disguise how they take on Smith. I'm not worried tbh, I think it'll be a great game and exciting. Tons of NFL talent all over the field in this one.
  9. I trust Eltife over someone getting up in their feelings. Thanks for posting, Bobby.
  10. Well put it this way, if he screws with any of that, he won't be President very long lol.
  11. Texas brand is back on the rise, Arch mania, great reporting and consistent content from the team and they're still growing. I mean who else pumps out literal content at a high level, interacts with the fans and does their best to answer worries, concerns or the same question every day? None better than OTF in the business right now, imo. Not trying to brown nose either, it's just pure facts. If this season goes the way most of us expect, the channel will continue to boom.
  12. Boy this topic took off from yesterday lol.
  13. That's actually some good growth from Arch, if true. Because one of the knocks on him, was he wasn't willing or didn't look to check down as much as say Ewers did, when it was necessary to do so.
  14. Sure maybe. I think Sark is the playcaller, but Flood definitely runs things when it comes to outside of playcalling. It's impossible for Sark to run the team as the HC and be the OC at the same time. I'm not sure it's just a title for pay purposes. But if it is, then I'm happy to be wrong on that.
  15. Be interesting to see a thread started on this and get peoples thoughts on Flood and the recruitment/development of the OL. No bigger task than getting this OL ready this year. Who is even better than Flood? It wouldn't be just replacing an OL coach but also your OC.
  16. I know people will hit the panic button, but I do like that the staff is extra careful with injuries. No reason to risk these guys in practices if we don't need to. As for the OL reshuffling, it's nothing new. Literally everyone does. Hell, even Ohio State has been doing it this fall camp. Texas did it last year, too. I like that they're trying new ways to see how the line looks, etc. Goosby will be back and ready to rumble against Ohio State.
  17. I wouldn't say they were mortal in the playoffs, they still kicked ass.
  18. I was certain that the Michigan was next year but thanks for the correction.
  19. Pretty sure we know that Ohio State won't be on the schedule until 2027. From what I remember, the deals were made for @Michigan in '24, @ Ohio State in '25 and then they return the favor by coming to Austin in '26 (Michigan) and '27 (Ohio State).
  20. This is true and his talent is evident, even Sark was recruiting him hard before Manning committed and both parties kinda just drifted apart. But this is in practice, no? When he was teams coming after him and in his face, can he still make those throws? Can he do this while progressing his reads, etc? The same is true for Manning. We've seen him under duress and come out to make plays and also struggle. Have you seen that from Sayin yet? Has he experienced that the college level? I do agree that it can't come soon enough, either way it'll be a fun game and I will say, I do appreciate you being cordial with us and not coming here to troll.
  21. To be honest, take that same gameplan against Smith and employ it again. Ohio State doesn't have the same caliber of RB's it had last year, their other WR's are good but not the caliber of Smith. Klare is a threat at TE but I think if you do what you did against Smith again and combine that with your pass rush to rattle Sayin, that is a recipe for success. Smith is his safety blanket. Sayin isn't as mobile as Howard and can't extend the play like he did and doesn't have the experience Howard had. Now their OL I'm not sure if it's as good or better, but they're replacing 4 starters like us. So, like our guys, will take some time to gel. No reason to over think it, imo. While they have other great WR's, none come close to Smith. Taking him out of the game (again) should be the main focus.
  22. I don't why but when I was listing off those teams at the end, I felt the urge to suddenly follow the yellow brick road.
  23. The biggest indicator of if we're going to win or not, won't have anything to do with Arch (ironically). It will have to do with how well this OL run blocks and if we can run the ball at will on teams.
  24. I was disappointed we didn't land Greathouse, dude is a beast.
