We should start a thread about this and keep it pinned or something. I'm always curious to see how former Longhorns are doing once they transfer. But I always forget where everyone goes lol. Glad to hear this about Finkley and sad that he's no longer a Longhorn, but hope he kills it at Kansas.

I wasn't directing my comment at you, just stating that Stanfords O sucked ass. They spent most of the season trying to figure out how to best utilize him. By the time they did, the season was pretty much over.

Stanfords O sucks ass lol. The fact he was making as many plays as he did, was great. Hope they're holding him out to get him healthy, because we're going to need him. I think Livingstone, Wingo and Moore are great WR's but having a 4th who's great also helps.

I'm sorry, no one is going to convince me that Helm wasn't the best TE in the draft. I couldn't believe the guy from Michigan went that high in the draft when Helm was better.

How c an you say the OL is championship caliber when you're replacing 4 starters yourself? Plus you had transfers come in there? Your WR and TE, I agree with. But as you said, you're an Ohio State guy so you're going to say those things, similar to how we are.

Why do people keep saying our OL is young? You have 3 guys going into their 4th year, another into his 3rd and the last into his 2nd? That hardly seems young to me. Some inexperience? Yes but for the most part not very young. As for the defensive staff at Ohio State, my recollection is that only the DC is new and they retained pretty much everyone, except the coach we took from them. Their D has some really good players but I don't know that it's close to what it was last year and obviously a new guy at the helm leading the D. Offensively, I think their OL is going to take longer to gel than ours. A couple of transfers from what I remember and they still aren't set on guys at their positions or even a group as a whole. A QB who hasn't played much, good RB's but not anywhere near what they had last year. The one area they most likely out shine us is WR and TE. Not that Endries is bad, but we wanted Klare first. If not for the proximity to home, he might be in burnt orange. As for a score, I'm not real good with those. Maybe we return the favour and win 28-14? Don't know if Texas goes down early, but who really knows. Tough road game environment, against a very high quality opponent. Anyway, good post

After Arch is done on the 40, we have ourselves a good old fashioned QB battle with Lacey and Bell (most likely).

I doubt it's anything serious but they'd be stupid not to investigate, in case it bites them in the ass later. They had better hope that he does play for them, he gives them the best hope out of their QB's on roster.

I will say, I saw someone doing game simulations for our schedule this year on youtube. You can watch them, they simulate the whole game. They've done up till week 10 vs Vanderbilt. So far the results are as follows: Week 1 vs Ohio State 34-28 W Week 2 vs San Jose State 27-7 W Week 3 vs UTEP 47-7 W Week 4 vs Sam Houston 41-9 W Week 6 vs Florida 31-24 OT W Week 7 vs Oklahoma 30-20 L Week 8 vs Kentucky 20-17 L Week 9 vs Miss State 15-3 W Week 10 vs Vanderbilt 37-17 W

I'm predicting 16-0, heisman winner. Don't make me take off my burnt orange glasses yet, okay? Lol. Realistically though, I could see us going 9-3 or 12-0. I think Gerry mentioned it earlier, the health of this team will determine how far they go. Otherwise I think our D can hold up against anyone, but will the O be of better help for them this year? Not go missing for large chunks of games? Will the special teams play be improved, as it's dropped off in the last couple of years? That's all stuff we need to see. I'd like to see Coach Banks getting after teams again on punts, etc. I do believe Boomauster will help with field position and maybe flip some of the fields for us, which will help our D more and let them pin their ears back and get after it. Hoping Shipley can be better with FG's, I've no idea what happened with Auburn in 2024 but we can't have that happen again. It's fair to assume that, but his family doesn't want him to rush the NFL, they've said this before. They want him to start multiple years in college. We'll see what happens.

That's just the media creating hype around the draft, lol. His family has always said they want him to stay in college and grow, there is no rush for him to get to the NFL.
