  1. I saw several games this weekend t hat did similar. They need to figure something out there. Between the 20's, Sark is great, once the field gets condensed he loses his mojo and over thinks it.
  2. I'm not sure who's in the booth for games, but you're right. How you see that and aren't telling Sark to take a time out to figure something else out.
  3. They knew where it was going, not a great idea at all. Half their D is crashing the line. How many guys is Hutson supposed to block, 3 guys crashing right at him. At least a hand off to Baxter gives him a chance, imo.
  4. Hey Jeff. I know Brooks is slated as a T and I'm fine with that but talking about next year's OL (I know, I know lol) would we benefit from putting him at G, assuming T depth is sorted, if Goosby comes back? That way you'd have assumed starters of LT - Goosby, LG - Stroh, C - Cruz, RG - Brooks, RT - Baker. Anyway, just a hypothetical I was thinking about. Good write up, per usual.
  5. I think this is pretty spot on. Not sure what Sark needs to do better play design/calling wise, but he seemed pleased with the calls in that 1st half, so not sure it's going to change. Seems like a lot of us underestimated Patracia's D and his influence on it. Seems like it rattled Arch more than we thought. Arch seemed to have the tips from the get go, that first pass of his might've been the warning sign. He got it going late in the game but by then still too late and still making some poor decisions.
  6. Considering how much better Beck looked against ND with Miami, I'd say Ewers not coming back somewhere else for another year was maybe a mistake on his part. We'll see how Beck does on the season, but he was a big reason they won that game, imo. Not sure who the rumored team was that wanted him but I do admire his loyalty to Texas and not wanting to play for anyone else. I just wonder if another year in college would've benefited him. As in if the guy sitting behind him wasn't Arch Manning, does he come back for another year?
  7. I like these cut ups vs teams. I'll post the O here, as it's every offensive play against Ohio State. If you want to watch the D, you can find it on this guys channel. The other guy I used to watch that made these, stopped doing them this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96PtApR4fn0
  8. Yeah I corrected myself in another comment, couldn't edit that one for some reason.
  9. I disagree, if you hand it off to Baxter on the goal line, instead of having Arch run it, those are TD's. There was push there. Because they converted several 3rd downs via running the ball, which were 3&2, etc.
  10. Actually looking at it closer, that looks like Spencer Shannon, #83. I think Endries is #88. But still, he was wide open on that drag route, the S or CB was being blocked in the end zone. All he had do was turn and plow into the end zone. That felt like an all game thing for him. He was barely under any pressure, even in this one, perfect OL block, has plenty of time, still makes the wrong read.
  11. If he looks to his left, he had Endries wide open, I believe.
  12. OL was definitely a plus. They had some bad moments but overall for a brand new OL on the road against Ohio State, they did a great job. In both run blocking and pass pro. There was many times that Arch had loads of time in the pocket, even when they brought pressure.
  13. Well you won't have to wait 5 years, we play next year in Austin lol.
  14. To me it looked like he had great coverage on it and if he turned around could've made a play on it. Was a pretty poor pass, tbh. Tate made nothing into something with a spectacular catch.
  15. I'd say they were still elite, because I think our DL nullified their OL but I was just surprised with how hyped up it was that we didn't even get one sack. Besides that big play to Tate, I think they play extremely well. You might be right on the coverage, who knows. Won't really find out till they play Florida at the Swamp in 5 weeks.
  16. (forgot to post this with my other comment lol) Some of our supposed top players MIA. Moore 4 targets, 2 catches for 6 yards. Wingo 8 targets 2 catches for 35 yards, etc. I know some of that was on Arch but boy was it sloppy today. I'm looking at the stats, too. You held Ohio State to 203 total yards and 2 TD's. Yeah you gave up that 40 yard TD play to Tate but it's not like they don't have that type of talent. But you still went out there and did your job. How the hell do we have more first downs, more yards (336) and we only put up 7 points? Yes we had the INT, but that was it. Why was Sark so aggressive with going for it 5 TIMES on 4th down? In tough road games, is not taking the 3 points acceptable? At least come away with something? Anyway, enough of my bitching. Love our team and coaches. Just very frustrated with the offensive performance. We're not doing this again where we have an elite D but our O can't do anything against teams with a pulse. Arch is going to get a ton of deserved criticism but he's still our guy no matter what. Same as it was with Ewers.
  17. Can I just say, for all the hype about our pass rush and we didn't even get 1 sack?
  18. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to tune in here in Australia but if I can't, stay safe out there in Columbus, hope we kick their butt and let's go Longhorns! Hook'Em🤘
  19. I think Heath went up pretty big in this game like 14-0 early. Highland Park came back to score 35 before the half and Heath clawed their way back in the 2nd half.
  20. I was a Texas fan just before the National Title season in 2005. My cousin was watching a game of theirs in 2004 and I remember seeing Vince Young playing and was enamored. Fell in love with Texas Longhorns after that and have been a fan ever since.
  21. This makes me happy as a Packers fan. I know Tom Grossi on Youtube is probably going nuts right now lol. Was already happy with our draft taking Golden and I think we also got Sorrell. Got Parsons for a steal, too.
  22. Shipley isn't exactly inspiring confidence.
  23. Definition of great product placement. A QB who shits the bed, repping Dude wipes. Get that minty fresh smell, when you stink it up on the field.
  24. I might be one of the few, but I think Meyer would also do really well at Texas. In saying that, his top two landing spots were Ohio State and Florida, both are hot beds for talent and blue bloods sin their own right, no? Now in saying that, he's one of the great college HC's in the last 20 years, imo. Though he has a lot to dislike about him, especially around the culture he would foster that went on for many years. But in saying all that, I'm glad we have Sark and that despite the rough going early on, he's taken Texas to new heights and I hope he sticks with us for the next 20 years lol.
