Someone once mentioned that Sark was a brilliant play designer but a lousy OC. That is why his scripts usually work, but after that, he struggles to stay consistent. Maybe that is because he prefers to call plays from the field and has to rely on eyes in the sky to figure out what the defense is doing. What genius is Buster Faulkner doing at Florida? This is essentially the same team as last year that struggled on offense. So, what are they doing differently? I've watched them a few times, and I don't see much change in formation or motions, so why the improvement? Yes, they are getting better QB play and execution, so they are obviously better coached. However, it seems like every play called is perfect against the defense they're running. How is that possible? My only conclusion is that Buster has a better view and control of the offense from the booth. Compare that to Sark who is still trying to play OC and head coach on the sidelines. He has to get info from his coaches in the booth and then call a play. If Arch doesn't have the ability to audible, as some have suggested, then each call is a crap shoot. This explains our constantly trying to run into inside run-blitizes and trying long developing pass plays against the same blitizes. It's ridiculous when you think about it, and insane to keep doing the save things and expecting different results.

One thing that I have noticed is that our offense seems to step up when things get close. Refreshing.

I'm not going to continue going back and forth with you on this. It's not hard to understand why they put a statement out about two players doing it and a coach doing it. One was done i nfront of millions and is not blasted all over the internet. The other was beyond a stupid action(s) and he has been punished for it behind close doors. Some articles talking about that have likely already been buried and no one pays attention to. Compared to videos of it on youtube, instagram, tiktok, etc.

agreed. kids saw that and though they didn’t know what it was in most cases, they still saw it. Coach Irwin hit the nail on the head. if another excessive celebration penalty happens that is in a tight game, it will tell us it is a culture problem and the players aren’t worried about what the coaching staff can or will do.

But why would he need to? It wasn't aired in front of millions of people? They handled it in house because it wasn't as public as Simmons and Brown.

Texas has taken more severe action against Nansen than a public reprimand. Neither Brown nor Simmons is expected to miss a game or a paycheck.

Vaaks was a turnover machine last year at Providence. Maybe Underwood's offense helps him, but it's not a forgone conclusion that he simply cleans up his game. Coleman may be pretty good. He may not. The key here is that if those two don't play well, they don't really have other options. Last I checked, neither Fland nor Aberdeen at Florida were consistent shooters or smooth initiators. Haugh is highly overrated. Condon's a bricklayer. They can rebound and play defense, but they have serious spacing wing issues (offensively and defensively).

Wish they could get it in place for this year. Otherwise because of extremely tough schedules like ours , will probably leave some really good teams out. With our problems scoring, will be very lucky to get through it with two losees.

Totally agree. I'm hopeful Sark recognizes that team discipline is lacking and will focus on it during the bye week.

Not when it tarnishes the reputation of not just our team, but our university, not to mention turned a 4th and long deep in their own territory for the opponent into a first down for them. Now obviously, Simmons is a freak athlete and a team leader. I'm confident he'll learn and it won't happen again.
