  1. Past hour
  2. NCAA has ZERO power and is an obsolete organization. Threaten a suit and they cave.
  3. So calling out Texas for having a "weak finish" to their portal class isn't bashing even though they brought in a potential starting RT in Siani as their latest portal edition? And yet when i pointed out that they still have months to bring in more players you don't want to bother with the "whatever players" like landing Hero from last year? But now it's how dare we defend this point by trying to be positive even though we're still months away from the start of the 2026 season? Keep on backtracking and wallowing in your doom & gloom bro. 🤣🤘🏼😂
  4. I know what happened. When Jordan posed for pictures he was always doing the Hook'em sign and God was watching.
  5. SUNDAY AFTERNOON: There has still been no resolution between Texas and at least one of its current players. Our understanding is that the player has filled out the paperwork to go into the portal, but has not been populated into the portal yet. Texas apparently has until Wednesday to do so, which is two business days from Friday (Monday is MLK day, so it is not considered a business day). ** Texas is still open to players who enter the portal officially next week. There are a couple of defensive players of note: Missouri's Damon Wilson and Ole Miss' Princewill Umanmeilen, both of whom specialize in rushing the passer. Umanmeilen is still discussing a return to Ole Miss, and LSU is thought to be the front-runner if he actually goes into the portal. Texas would be interested, but time will tell if that interest is reciprocated (or even able to be reciprocated). Wilson visited Texas Tech on Thursday/Friday before returning to his Florida home this weekend. He has an offer in hand from the Red Raiders. A complicating factor is his current litigation with Georgia. As part of his NIL package, Wilson is said to be seeking to simultaneously satisfy the Georgia lawsuit against him. Ohio State and Miami are also in contention for Wilson. ** On the offensive side of the ball, Texas remains in the market for a starting OL. Colorado offensive lineman Jordan Seaton was originally linked to the Longhorns but has since taken visits to Mississippi State, Miami and LSU, and is headed to Oregon tomorrow. The Horns have been unlikely to pursue at the same level of other teams since the addition of Wake Forest's Melvin Siani, who was on his visit to Texas yesterday with his parents in tow. That leaves Texas primarily considering interior offensive linemen. Louisiville starting OG Jordan Church committed to Texas Tech yesterday. He had been planning a visit to Texas. It's unclear if Church remains unsigned and will still take a visit to Texas. The Longhorns are also looking at multiple possibilities and awaiting the final closure of the transfer portal itself. All names must be entered no later than Wednesday night. The only players who can enter after that (for five additional days) are participants in tomorrow night's national championship game. Long story short, Texas remains on the hunt on the OL. Will someone pop into the portal late? Will a player currently playing for a national title decide to enter? There are a lot of questions that we don't have the answers for. Beyond just the prospective starters, Texas is also looking to add more depth on the OL. So we could see additional names considered depth pieces for 2026. ** What about other positions? It's not out of the realm that we will see Texas attempt to sign a QB (Sark historically likes to keep four scholarship QBs on roster), an experienced wide receiver and possibly another defensive back (corner/nickel). ** When the portal first opened, I was told Texas would likely land somewhere between 15-18 players. Texas is currently at 15. They will land within that threshold or go slightly over.
  6. Portal Week + $1 Sub Promo ≠ Happy Meal Combo
  7. Portal did close but there’s still a lot of players in it. News might be slow for a while.
  8. You need to stop that! lol
  9. What happened? News just stopped. Did portal close?
  10. Inch for inch Mugsy was better
  11. Almost all fan bases are the same. I am retired and listen to Finebaum a good bit. They go nuts when things are not going well. Bama fans not used to losing go on suicide watch. Another thing I have learned. they all don't like us. Pretty sure I get on the bashers nerves. Always have a tendency to back our coaches and players. Especially when we are winning as many games as we are.
  12. Today
  13. I don't know what this means. Beard was on his way. Smart and Terry were in over their heads. None of this is Miller half way through his first season. Outside Kentucky, North Carolina and Duke, who do we know actually puts more resources in it? I'm more concerned if Darryn Peterson is really like Kobe. Everybody knows I'm a big Kobe fan, but the first thing I thought when I watched Peterson play is that the boy played like Kobe. He's not nearly as game or tough as Kobe, but maybe he will toughen up.
  14. He is so much fun to watch, for me, especially on defense.
  15. We have four really good recruits coming in next year. Two are great. If we keep.our underclassmen, with these new girls, we will remain very good. The big center, who is redshirting, will have a year of training, weights, etc. She is 6'6".
  16. The AI pics and clutter are a bit much for me in many threads. I’ve cut down to mostly just mod posts. To each his own
  17. I’m somewhere in the middle. I’m not a Pollyanna but I don’t think the sky is falling either. I do find it funny when others complain about negative posters when they are complaining themselves in just a different fashion.
  18. My youngest child was born in the last year the Dallas Cowboys won the Super Bowl. She graduated from UT in '17 and will be 31 this year. I grew up in the 1960s and was a big Cowboys fan. My father took me to see them play the Browns in the Cotton Bowl Stadium and Bob Lilly and Jim Brown got tossed for fighting that day. As a high school senior, I saved from working after school and summer jobs and went to SBVI in NOLA. Cowboys 24 Dolphins 6. End zone ticket cost me $55. When the Cowboys were a total No-Show at home against Green Bay in the playoffs...I declared the end of my Dallas Cowboys fandom. I haven't watched a single snap since and from what I can gather, I haven't missed anything. But I started with the Longhorns in 1968, graduated in '76 and '78 and I will never leave Horns. Hook 'Em!
  19. Keeping him healthy will be the Spurs' biggest challenge. He is a freak, but rail thin. However, he is a total force multiplier. Spurs have a knack for timing their cratering of a season and landing a generational player in the draft.
  20. Hero Kanu is a great example of someone who came in and exceeded any expectations. I, in no way was bashing Texas or saying this is a failure or anything close, simply stating we lost a lot of depth in the O-Line and I don’t know that we replaced it adequately enough considering it was our biggest concern. Everyone is quick to defend without even trying to understand the point. I think we’re gonna have an incredible season, I just worry if injuries or anything happens to our already THIN O-line we may be in a tough spot. Simple as that
  21. Is Texas truly that far behind? Does Aggy commit more or even an Alabama?
  22. The problem is your impatience as a fan and need for instant gratification. Let the coaches and staff work and go through their process with due diligence. BTW one of those "whatever players" from last year's portal class was Hero Kanu from bucknuts. He came to Texas with little to no fanfare and ended up being an integral part of the defensive line culminating in him being a draftable player and will be back as a key member for next year's championship run.
  23. Lmao you guys ignore the comments about this being an overall great portal class. Typical fans not being able to take any criticism. We didn’t fully fix our biggest issue from the previous season (we did however improve, but still leaves questions to be answered). Correct or incorrect??
  24. I never got off the bus. We have had three mediocre coaches in a row. The two at other schools are struggling and the other is commentating and working for an NBA team. It’s the “resources” that have always concerned me. Keep waiting for them to actually give the coach a fair chance to compete in the SEC.
