100 Days Until Kickoff: What Excites You The Most?
Zacharyhorn replied to Blake Munroe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Excited to see the team come together and play as a team. Last year it did not seem like they played that way until the last few games of the year. Hoping to see it from start to finish this year. Arch getting the ball to his playmakers (Coleman, Wingo and Mosley) Running backs making people finding the holes the oline has created and making people miss in open field. Defense attacking and causing havoc. If the above takes place, think we will be in for a fun and memorable season. -

Facing 40 year old Michael Cooper

The consensus greatest pre-draft workout in sports history is 17-year-old Kobe Bryant’s 1996 workout with the Los Angeles Lakers at the Inglewood YMCA. Facing off against seasoned NBA defender Michael Cooper, Bryant dominated so thoroughly that it forced Lakers management to completely shift their draft strategy.

I’m excited for the speed and physicality of this team. I can’t even remember the last time we had a roster with this level of elite speed and the potential to be an extremely physical team. -

That's what it is for me too. If Arch starts this season the way he finished the year and plays at a level consistent to that all season, Texas will win it all. -

Very little excitement when there is this much expected. Mostly fear, dread, and anxiety. I remember 2008 being an absolute ball. 2009 was a slog of a season with very little upside. I anticipate this season feeling more like 2009. Cheers! -
It’s not the guardian that worries me, per se. It’s the not-for-profit that is marketing Camara as its spokesman and its fund raising revenue source. If Camara weren’t a marketable NIL entity, he’s still in France in a very difficult situation. But because he’s a highly marketable NIL story, he’s now the “French Freak” and the fund raising face of an NFP that has literally created a campaign (“PROtector”…for a Tackle prospect 🤔😂) using his story. Again, I hope this has a happy ending for the kid and the team around him is acting solely in his best interests. I really hope FOOTBALL can lead this kid to a better outcome, regardless of how he arrives there. But I will be skeptical of the “team” and the marketing campaign until I see the results for the kid.

Coach Vic is not changing...
Califashorn75 replied to Califashorn75's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Coaches see their players at practice, working on off hours, their body language during games, etc. Coach has earned the right to be the demanding coach he is because winning is hard in the SEC. He has to compete against loaded teams with great coaches every game. He has been to the Final Four two years in a row. Not easy. I think this new team is full of dogs. We are going to love this team. -

Is this partly because of greater TV coverage compared to last year? Just curious - I watched more this year than I did last year but it seemed easier to find games this year. -

Watching my first Texas game with my baby boy who was born in March. -
I like Don't Stop Believing. I remember watching the pre-game for game five of the 2009 NBA Finals. Kobe had earphones on. Reporter asked him what he was listening to. He said Don't Stop Believing by Journey. Reporter asked him, "Why not rap?" He said, "Man, that's real rap." I always thought he liked the song. I still think he really does like it.

Don't coddle anyone. Instead of listening to songs he liked for motivation, Kobe famously forced himself to listen to songs he hated. After losing the 2008 NBA Finals to the Boston Celtics, he listened to Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" and the Dropkick Murphys' "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" every single day for two years. He did this specifically to trigger the painful memory of losing and fuel his drive to win the 2010 championship.

This technically isn't a Yacht Rock track, but it's Steely Dan, so it kinda counts. Regardless, Craig Way used this song to intro his old radio show with Bill Schoening. When I co-hosted with Craig on The Horn, I convinced him to bring it back to intro the second hour of our show.

25-26 Director's Cup Thread

Seems like the only nuts they find are not buried. Womens tennis coach was an assistant to our coach, and an aggie letterman. Repeat playback for retaining Earley from Schloss' staff. Elko is a Jimbo staff refurbishment. Otherwise their splash hires are also obvious but with a low hit rate. -
