  2. Where Does Mizzou Go With the Ball Offensively? *** When you talk about the Missouri offense, often times the conversation begins and ends with the running game, and rightfully so. Missouri running back Jamal Roberts has been one of the conference's best this season. Roberts currently sits atop of the SEC rushing leaders as the only back in the conference over 1,000 yards on the season. So obviously, a key focus will be geared towards keeping the Mizzou run game in a box. However, what is lost in the shuffle is the ability from Austin Simmons to create with his arm. Simmons only has two interceptions on the season despite 240 pass attempts. Any way you spin it, Simmons has done a fine job of protecting the football. Additionally, the Tigers have found themselves a really impressive No. 1 wide receiver in the form of Cayden Lee, a transfer from Ole Miss who arrived at the same time as Simmons. Next in line at receive is Donovan Olugbode, a 6–2 sophomore out of Chicago, who has really burst onto the scene in 2026. But the point of the article is to then point out – who else is a threat for Missouri? Teams that have had success against the Tigers limited the running game and lived with the Tigers force feeding passes to Lee and Olugbode. In the 34–3 loss to Ole Miss, both Lee and Olugbode received 12 targets a piece and Roberts rushed for just 39 yards on 20 attempts. In the 31–24 loss to Mississippi State, Lee led the way with 13 targets, and Olugbode followed behind with eight. In both contests combined, only one other pass catchers saw five targets. We have seen Texas aggressive on the perimeter this season, and the performance of the nickel defender has been tested plenty this season. For this weekend, whether it is Graceson Littleton or Bo Mascoe in the slot, the point remains: Get ready to be tested. Missouri is fixated on their two wide receivers to offset the running game, but there is not exactly a coveted third option in the passing game who has consistently shown up for the Tigers. And none of the tight ends for Mizzou have provided a consistent option in the passing game so far this season. 82.2% of Cayden Lee's snaps have come while lined up in the slot. As things currently stand, Lee is just one target shy of leading the SEC on the season. To the point about a third option, there really is not one that stands out. Lee leads the team with 53 receptions, Olugbode comes in with 40 of his own, and then no one else on the roster has more than 14 receptions this season. It truly is a mixed bag of tight ends, running backs and lesser involved receivers that make up the remaining passing attack. 55% of the passes attempted this season for Missouri have been in the direction of Lee and Olugbode. For Texas, one of the keys will be to not fall asleep with the other pass game options. When the injury report is revealed on Wednesday evening, it is going to be really interesting to see what conclusions can be made in regard to how the Longhorns plan to slow down the Missouri offense – especially the passing attack.
  3. She only had 40 vs oregon in the tournament last year and had been 34-58 until her 3-23 performance vs UCLA in the final 4. If she's open she should have a green light from anywhere.
  4. Last week I asked: favorites or underdogs? Favorites, mostly. Four of the five covered. The only one that didn't was Oklahoma, and South Carolina didn't just cover +5.5, they walloped. The board's big miss was Texas. 80% of you took Mississippi State and the 21.5 points, and Texas won by 28. I laid the points with Texas, so I'll take that one. Where the board was right, it was very right: 93% had Missouri -10.5 at Arkansas, and Missouri won by 24. Congrats to @PaulieD, who went 5-0. That's the first perfect board of Hold the Mayo, and PaulieD's second jar this season after Week 5. Seven more of you went 4-1. Full Week 9 results can be seen here. Week 10 is open, and it's a big one. Eight SEC games against the spread, best record Holds the Mayo, ties go to whoever picked first: #7 Texas (-3.5) at #18 Missouri, 11:00 AM CT Arkansas at Auburn (-10.5), 11:45 AM CT Texas A&M at #21 South Carolina (-7.5), 2:00 PM CT #5 Alabama at #14 LSU (-5.5), 2:30 PM CT Vanderbilt at Mississippi State (-3.5), 3:15 PM CT #6 Kentucky at #13 Tennessee (-6.5), 5:15 PM CT #2 Georgia (-3.5) at #10 Ole Miss, 6:30 PM CT Oklahoma at #24 Florida (-6.5), 6:45 PM CT The pick for each game locks at its own kickoff, and you can change your picks any time before then without losing your place in line. Texas kicks at 11, so get that one in before you sit down for it. Here's what I keep staring at: the committee and the line disagree. #6 Kentucky is a 6.5-point underdog at #13 Tennessee. #5 Alabama is getting 5.5 at #14 LSU. And #2 Georgia is only laying 3.5 at #10 Ole Miss. So who's wrong, the committee or the line? stance.fm/mayo Hook 'em! 🤘

  6. One terrible game does not make a career. Surely you have had a day like that.
  7. He better add Clark to that group.
  8. is or isnt... no offensive play caller can do anything when offesnive lines miss 5 for 5 on blocks... not sure how many times ive seen that before
  9. Awesome keep it rolling
  10. They do indeed seem to have found the formula.
  11. If Arch and Texas flame out and miss the playoff, Manning will not be back at Texas.
  12. It is not all doom and gloom friends . I believe that will show Saturday. I’ve said over a year Arch would come back next year . It’s a family tradition for the Mannings to play out their eligibility. Two Unc’s & Gramps did . No doubt we will lose KJ if Arch doesn’t declare. But what if we wouldn’t. I would hope he will stick with Texas . It is inexcusable to lose to two unranked teams . Lost by three points each . But our season isn’t over by far . We criticize if we want to . I believe it hurts our recruiting. But obviously i could be wrong. No Manning has ever won a Heisman or National Championship. Arch still can . Perhaps I just love Texas too much . But I believe the best is yet to come. “Hookem “
  13. He’s the main fix in personnel overall, we have a talented roster. He’s the main fix for the defense, he hired Muschamp, recruited the players etc. He is absolutely responsible for the poor performance on offense for the same reasons. The offense just isn’t good. Objectively. The play calling just isn’t good. The Oline just isn’t good . He can’t or won’t figure it out, and that is his job and side of the ball . That’s probably the problem. He’s blind to his own failures, and keeps beating a dead horse (his offense which is dated). The problem is he has used some concepts in the past he just isn’t utilizing. Passing to tight ends and running backs more as an example. Oline blocking is atrocious, I think you need a PHD to figure out his oline schemes . That is one problem . Stand square to the damn line shoulder to shoulder and block what is coming with weight back in your ars and a good punch . Stop turning this way and that and zone blocking . It’s crap and confusing . Offense is his fault just like other successes are to his credit.
  14. Because he’s not an offensive guru. He’s been figured out and won’t adapt
  15. How many short and intermediate tempo passes do we throw in third quarter. Seems like the sequencing is failed run, (throw bomb/failed run) long third down, punt. I don’t see defenses stopping our short and intermediate passes unless it is a screen getting blown up because the screen blockerr gets jammed. This is what works in the scripts at the beginning of every game with a bomb thrown in. When the bomb is caught, yay, it works. When arch gets sacked, we start spiraling. Throw some quick slants for god’s sake.
  16. Like fore Booker to make some clutch twos in a big game before she shoots a bunch of threes.
  17. There is no in season fix. Best you can do is work around it and then actually fix the problem in the off season. Not pretend it's not an issue.
  18. I'm far from an expert but if you've seen some of the bull fighter Ole videos, it's hard to believe even soft OL can just not get a hand on someone, so it is possible they have been given very bad instruction.
  19. What's not hard to say is that Saban would have ripped him a new one by now
  20. Sad this is where we're at with a 4th year QB and an "Offensive" coach in their 6th year. If only we had the budget to assemble an offense that could be average.
  21. ...he is often criticized for our lack of threes, however, the past few years, we haven't had consistent three point shooters. It appears that has changed. He said recently that: Bri Preston, Maddie Booker, Bri Crittendon, and Zya Vann all have the green light to shoot the three. Why? Because they can make them! This will be a huge change offensively to what we are used to. Hook'em! It's going to be an exciting year.
  22. The question is whether Flood was a major reason Alabama’s line was so successful or whether he benefited from an already superior development system.
  23. I'm not really trying to argue with you because some of your criticisms are fair, but I see it a little differently. I think you've got the cause and effect backwards. If Sark were blindly force-feeding his system for five years, Texas wouldn't have gone from 5-7 to living in the playoff conversation every season. Ewers wasn't running some pure Sark fantasy offense by the end. The offense evolved heavily toward quick game, screens, and intermediate throws because that's what Quinn did best. If anything, Sark spent years adapting to his quarterback. As for Arch, we're already declaring the experiment a failure two years in? That's the same fan base that wanted to bench Quinn every other week and now talks about him like he was the problem all along. Sark deserves criticism for protection issues, sloppy execution, and occasional stubbornness. But when the program reaches heights it hadn't seen in over a decade and the conclusion is still "maybe the head coach is the problem," it starts sounding less like analysis and more like someone looking for a guilty verdict. I just think it's hard to argue the architect is the main problem when he's also the guy who rebuilt the house. 🤘
