  1. Past hour
  2. I don't think so. Did Bailey have twice the production of Simmons? That and you must consider the effect of possible chemistry problems caused by money.
  3. Would Bailey been worth it, tho?
  4. Based on Schloss's comments about Cozart last week, I'm guessing he's still trying to stretch Cozart to get him ready for postseason, and he also thinks he can use him twice in a weekend regardless.
  5. This is true, but there are just outright bad evaluations of talent. Taking the likes of Golday and Trotter before Hill is crazy. Drafting Boerkhicher at 56 overall is pure malpractice. Those guys could have easily been drafted in third and fourth round.
  6. Today
  7. Such an inexact science. How do you measure heart, work ethic, fit, desire...the draft is basically a guessing game. There are busts annually. Once the players in the first round see the bag, many just lose the hunger for the game. The Rey Lewis's are few and far between.
  8. South Carolina is loaded. I don't know how some of these girls will get minutes. Jordan Lee is likely backing Tessa Johnson who is starting. Nice problems to have. We will see how much that talent can win.
  9. He makes it basically unwatchable.
  10. Many of these picks make you think that more than half of NFL teams draft with their eyes closed.
  11. Arch was playing horribly early on. He was missing such easy throws that had everyone scratching their head. But he eventually got it going and damn near carried the team to the playoffs. This years team is likely going to see a lot more 1st/2nd round talent in the 2027 draft and will give us a better chance for the playoffs if we can figure it out and not shoot ourselves in the foot. Lot of really talented teams on the schedule.
  12. This. Always got me pumped up for football.
  13. Arch and Goosby both could have come out and been first rounders. We added Moseley and had Moore and Wingo. It’s likely one of those would not have been happy. Plus Endries and some highly recruited high schoolers. There’s a good chance an additional WR does play out as it does in your mind. As far as guard is concerned, that’s an interesting discussion. I don’t recall any discussion about Hutson not being a starter. Generally speaking, we were ok letting Baker and Cojoe battle it out. Going back 12 months, it’s difficult to see Neto or Kibble or Hutson to guard not being viable options. None of us are there all the time, but you’d assume that a well thought of recruit in his 4th year would work out fine. And we had two choices - Neto or Robertson. There are a multitude of things that could have gone differently to make the playoffs. It is a little ironic that Arch was blamed early on but almost is blameless in today’s discussions.
  14. Our lack of draftable offensive talent says a lot. We have enormous talent in the wings but we sure dropped the ball last offseason. I think we would have made the playoffs if we had added another WR and OG.
  15. There's something about exclusivity. Those 2:30 SEC games on CBS were always special.
  16. These is by far one of the worst draft classes in football history. These GMs on some of these teams wonder why their team sucks, jets and Cardinals look at thier draft. It is crazy.
  17. Shoutout Sark for even hanging with OSU I guess. Arch faced a defense with an NFL coordinator and 5 top-2 rounders in his first start.
  18. I agree with this. Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson epitomized SEC ball for me, even with all the Urban/Saban butt kissing
  19. Muhammad got terrible advice
  20. He never returned Texas' calls and texts once Tech made him an offer he couldn't refuse (minus the horse head). Bailey kept ignoring calls from Tech until these two texts: "I have the deal of a lifetime for you. Give me a call, bro." and "David, give me 120 seconds to have a convo with you. If you're not interested after that, I'll leave you alone." He was intrigued and called. The offer was supposedly for over $3 million for one year. Texas wasn't going to offer him double what Simmons was likely making. Article here in ESPN
  21. I always felt like CBS did the best job of capturing the crowd and atmosphere in their production. I think a some of the SEC hype and mystique came from that. Not sure why it is so hard for ESPN to do the same.
  22. It really has been surprising how many TE have been taken already. I know Endries wasn't mocked to go in the 3rd, but with this many taken, teams may take him earlier than anticipated. We will see. It seems odd that Manny hasn't gone yet with the number of DBs that have been taken, but the last 3 have all had high numbers of INTs in their careers. That was something Manny just couldn't do in game during his 3 years. We will see...
  23. Actually they were 11-0 with a win over Notre Dame at one point, before falling on their face against Texas and Miami to finish 11-2
