Sark said he had a "championship roster" last spring. Probably did, but it didn't come together soon enough for whatever reasons. If they take it to Ohio State in week two, we know we have the goods. -

Whether it was the knee or not getting along with Coach Akina, who cares. Derrick Williams is a playmaker and I think having Coach Gideon back is more valuable than we realize. With Muschamp in tow, the secondary can finally be aggressive and attack the football, attack offenses and put themselves in more favorable situations. Here's one more thing to consider. These guys actually CHOSE each other. Think about it... in the transfer portal era, either being recruited by Texas, or being on the roster and having a shot at the portal, you're a commodity. There's not a school in the country that won't either recruit the kids Texas is after, or take one of the kids off our roster, thru the portal. In saying that, this 2026 team, by Sark's account, not just mine, is already closer than the 2025 squad. There is certainty here, and a sense of purpose and finality with this team that shouldn't go unnoticed. Unfinished business, dreams and goals are lined up... and we're seeing a motivated team come together over spring. Super excited to get started!! 🤘🏿🔥

Sark has said some version of this the past few years. He may be more right this year.

Here for the Wins replied to Bunk Moreland's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Always interesting how people’s minds work. This team had enough talent/skill to win it all last year. Just because you don’t win it doesn’t mean they were incapable. It needed things to break right, which obviously didn’t happen. Lack of experience hurt but will benefit this years team. Now this year we go “all in.” That could mean several things, but to me it means we’re paying significant dollars in an attempt to buy a championship. But I’m on the outside of what that looks like in terms of those dollars. The guys footing the bill for this years team are the ones who need to answer the championship or bust. But as a nobody, based on less than full information, I’d lean towards anything short of a championship is a bust. It shouldn’t be a surprise that we have more talent and depth than ever. We’ve largely whiffed at recruiting at DT for the past 5 years. If you didn’t like last years RBs, then that was largely a whiff too. The portal and NIL allow you opportunities to build up your team. That didn’t exist 5 years ago. Sark was a right choice at the right time for this program. He has done well taking advantage, but he needs to finish the job. -
...and that would be a much more defensible argument than the one Cody Campbell is making for college sports.

I'm old, but I'm not convinced transfer OL from WKU and Wake Forest are going to lead Texas to a NC. Hope I'm wrong.

1st up the aggies actualy made a hype video after their softball team won one game in a three game series against Texas -
Thought I would start a thread dedicated to all the ways the aggies embarrass themselves

I wonder if someone made the claim that all oil and gas minerals are a public good, should be protected / regulated for the greater good of the general public, and collectively pooled to determine the price, what would Cody’s response be?

Well as he said many times, winning is hard, for him. -
His on-base percentage is 2nd worst on the whole roster (only above 'Doza) as is his OPS. I'm a big fan of A Rod and how he improved his overall game — his jumps on defense and baserunning (especially!) have been so impressive — but clearly he needs to get healthy in order to contribute at the dish. Very relieved to hear they're at least gonna try something (again).

We’ve been seeing all the signs that this was coming. I’m actually surprised he’s not out for the season. I would really like to see Borba stay at first. I’ll admit I was concerned pre-season about his lack of experience at first but he’s been really good overall this season. His ball IQ is a big factor in his success in my opinion. Either way there’s going to be a new player in the infield. First gets a lot more action than third does.
