I don't know. The fact that they abstained from voting could be more legal maneuvering than how the administration actually feels IMO.

Can Enos Kanter play for our womenβs bball team is the big question?

Thanks, Bobby! Is LSU actually thinking about pushing back on this? π

Just an FYI - there will be more nuances to the meeting coming out of Birmingham. * There could be other aspects of the new rule not previously revealed. Again, Greg Sankey has the latitude to manage this rule. * One of those is this: I'm told the "no-pro players" ruling will include more sports than just former football, men's basketball and women's basketball players. Volleyball, softball and baseball will also be included. * I'm guessing national reporters will be all over this.

Untold: The Testimony of Vince Young

VY was 22, at a time, when the NFL was transitioning from old school coaches to new ones like Andy Reid. Fisher was straddling both fences, however, he didn't have the stripes to feel comfy in his job. He hadn't won anything. Therefore, he assumed the position of a Warlord. Do as I say or else. Bud Adams certainly didn't help. VY just needed someone who had his back. When McNair was murdered, he fell into a depression. Again, no help. Nowadays, athletes are less vulnerable. Coaches are much more sensitive. Jared Elliott is a great example of this new type of coach. Because Sark has been given a second chance, he is much more cognizant of being there for his players too. Fisher, not responding to VY's letter, is all you need to know what a bitter human being he has remained. He takes no accountability. The part I loved was the reverence Scaife and White had for VY. They understood the pressure he was under. Being a quarterback in the League has to be among the most difficult jobs to have period. Look how many have tried and failed. VY is a hero to many of us. He will remain so. His legacy will be remembered for bringing a joy to us seconded only by the birth of our children. VY is loved by us and will always be so. -
Mind bending to think of Mick and Dolly as contemporaries! π€― Her stardom was only exceeded by her persona.

Untold: The Testimony of Vince Young

Lots of QBs have flourished on their 2nd or even 3rd or 4th stop. Vince battled maturity issues even at Texas, and was never an elite passer. He had a clean start at Philly under one of the greatest QB whisperers and even that didnβt work out. Interestingly there was an A Football Life which featured both Vince and Matt Leinart. They both admitted they didnβt work hard enough to achieve the success they had in college in the NFL. I love Vince, and he took Texas to levels we hadnβt seen in decades. That doesnβt mean youβre guaranteed a successful run in the NFL. -

It was either 1970 or 71, I was serving as a host at a function in Athens, Tx and was sitting next to a young man named Buddy Iles. It took me a while to realize who I was sitting next to. We got a pretty good laugh when I told him my real feelings about him. He caught the 50 yard TB to beat the Longhorns in that 61 game. π€π» - Today

Fisher definitely a class A a$$hole. I think VY wouldβve flourished under a different head coach in the NFL. I did and still do firmly believe that if you give him some time and consideration he wouldβve grown into that role. Itβs not one most young QBs just step into naturally. When the head coach is putting you on blast and private stuff out in the media itβs hard to want to really go all in on that one. I loved the Scaife and White interviews! -
All of the RB rooms (minus the QB stats) that made the CFB Playoff last year averaged 125 yds/gm (5yds/carry), would be EVEN higher because Bama brought those numbers down. Without the cupcake games, stripping Arch's rushing totals, our running back room was 65 yds/gm (3.4yds/carry). DRASTIC difference for teams competing for the natty. I know some people want to talk about Arch's numbers in the passing game that need to improve. I believe with our receiving weapons, if our rushing game improves at all... our offense will be clicking, and those wrs will be running wide open.

I thought it was pretty fair. Definitely confirmed Fisher as an a-hole. But also made it clear VY didnβt put in the work to be a franchise QB. -
As a 12 year old I was heartbroken about that loss to TCU in 1961 at Fort Worth. It was the second time in three years that TCU upset the previously unbeaten Longhorns. (the first was in 1959 at TCU's home field) It wasn't until 1963 that Texas would go undefeated and become undisputed national champions.
