I get the concern, but I don’t think the conclusion matches what’s actually happening on the field. Arch isn’t missing because he’s overwhelmed --- he’s missing because he’s still syncing his timing with what this offense demands. Sark’s system is built around anticipation, leverage manipulation, and throwing before the picture is fully formed. That’s a skill that develops with real reps, not just practice reps. What stood out to me is that the issues weren’t about vision -- they were about decisiveness. He hesitated, and when a QB hesitates in this scheme, everything looks worse than it is. That’s not a permanent flaw, it’s a developmental checkpoint. Plenty of quarterbacks have gone through the same phase in this offense before leveling out. And the roster around him isn’t being wasted. Coleman changes how defenses align even when he doesn’t get the ball. Safeties widen, corners play deeper, and that opens space for everything else. That’s value whether the QB is in rhythm or not. The next stretch of games will tell us more, but I’m not ready to declare a ceiling when the traits, the coaching, and the structure are all there. He needs to speed up his internal clock ...... not reinvent who he is.

Not surprised, I bet exactly zero AP voters not affiliated with Texas watched that game last night. Only way we’d drop is if we lost.

I’m not panicking. I just think we’re ignoring a pretty obvious pattern with this offense. Texas and Sark have played a lot of clunky, inconsistent offensive football over the years, especially after big emotional games. Last night wasn’t some shocking outlier to me. It’s who they’ve been under Sark. We saw it against TCU. Georgia. Ohio State. And we saw it again against Ohio State last week for three quarters before finally waking up in the 4th. One good quarter doesn’t erase the other three. I’m not worried because Arch had a bad game. He’s human. I’m frustrated because Sark has had elite talent for years, and this offense still too often fails to play up to it when it matters. I think Texas will be fine. But let’s stop pretending last night came out of nowhere. This has been a pattern for a long time.

well it wasn't that bad. first downs tx 27- utsa 9. total yardage tx 400 - utsa 142. time of possession tx 37-23 utsa is not a bad team. we were lackluster at times tho.

Last night was a very special moment in the pre-game for our friend Brian Robison. Brian recently completed his degree at The University of Texas and was therefore awarded his T-Ring. This was a long process for Brian because he returned to school after some of the classes he originally needed for his degree had been sunsetted and no longer offered. He and his wife worked through that hiccup and after a couple of classes it resulted in yesterday. Congrats to B-Rob, a University of Texas graduate!

I am not panicked but just disappointed at how disjointed and listless the team played. The expectations are very high. That 2005 team just oozed with confidence from March to January. That is what you want to see here.

Missouri had 230 yards of offense versus Troy. At Missouri. A Troy that gave up 335 yards passing to SHSU, a team they beat by 3 at home. MSU, UF both gave up a lot of points, committed a ton of penalties. Ole Miss is good, but they are having to navigate a more difficult schedule than last year. Lacy is already banged up. They get to suit up and head to Florida next week. Somehow they only have 4 road games again.

I am not going to say panic but more or less disappointed especially on the offense. I am contemplating that is this offense has not become too predictable. And over the past 6 years Sark hasn't changed much and it's starting to catch up. And I just don't think this team is an explosive offense the personal is there but everybody now sees what Texas can do. We just need to be a blue collar hound it down run short intermediate passing game then at some point explosiveness will happen.

I mean that is fair. 4 years into the system and still the same questions. Then at times he is a world beater. Frustrating as hell. And yeah the excuses are getting old to be honest. Maybe this is just who he is . I still am willing to see it play out, and hopefully these things can be corrected. Still want to be fair because you can see the good as well. But it's evident we have to win in all 3 phases. No one person can carry this team like a Chambliss can for Ole Miss. But we have enough talent, and hopefully we put it together to take some pressure off. Will see.

No panic. Texas will not be ultimately judged by how they play against UTSA. Judgement will come against the likes of Tennessee, etc.

Panic? Absolutely not. Do I feel good about this team offensively when we're about to go play Tennesse in Knoxville? No, I don't. Like Bobby said, I'm not gonna draw any conclusions based on how people play or coach against UTSA, I'm gonna reserve that for OSU, Tennessee, OU, etc...

I think benching someone after leading a 4th quarter 21 point comeback where he was dang near perfect because they're playing bad against UTSA is probably the reason why you're not into coaching lol. Not there with you at all. But he has to play better. I don't think it's performance anxiety at all since he actually plays better when *stuff* gets real and Texas needs it... if he had performance anxiety he would've crumbled last week, he would've crumbled against michigan, he would've crumbled against a&m, he would've crumbled against mississipi state... I think he just gets in his head too much some time and I think the off field stuff this week didn't help. I think he wanted to go out and be perfect last night instead of just playing football and having fun and when things didn't go perfectly he got in his head.
