Sunday - He Found Something
If you want to see a coach that is the very definition of competitive, take a look at the short video of Steve Sarkisian below. Winning clearly meant something to him, something very deep. Almost like he was exorcising some football demons. ** I believe it meant something special to him yesterday because, at least in part, he knows he helped put his players, his quarterback in particular, in a position to succeed. And his quarterback and his offense answered the bell in a big way. As a coach, I’m not sure there’s a better feeling than that. It’s something Sark had struggled to get just right all season. Arch, the OL and some dropped passes along the way did not help matters. But when the clock hit double zero in Columbia, the outlook of the 2026 Texas football team felt like it had fundamentally changed. Why? The 34 points scored against Ole Miss at home was no longer a fluke. The offense felt like it had created an identity. It was no longer a punching bag of three-and-outs. Instead, it showed real signs that it could blossom into something truly efficient and at the same time forceful, a unit that can both score points and move the chains. The emergence and usage of Jermaine Bishop helped. So too did the increased checkdowns to the running backs and tight ends and the steady play of Ryan Wingo and Emmett Mosley V. The offensive line, in this style of play, felt like it could hold up better. And the emergence of Raleek Brown as a true RB1 rather than a rotation also seemed to provide pop and consistency. There’s a reason Sark pumped his fists in the air after the win yesterday. The Longhorns may have found a real path forward and to the College Football Playoff. ** It’s a night-time kick in Baton Rouge. 6:30 on ABC. The college football world will be watching the Longhorns and Tigers. This will be a true test of the Texas offense and the Texas defense. Enjoy your Sunday, folks. The Horns have a big one on Saturday. Hook’Em! View full news story

Being upset at the refs circumstances…
In most cases I recall, fan bases upset at the refs are likely related to missed or non-reviewable calls. This game was odd in that most of the controversy was reviewed. Both teams had reviewed calls go against them but Texas ended up ahead on the strength of the odd forward fumble. The non fumble due to forward progression was wrong. Texas had at least 3 no calls go against them..can’t think of no calls to on Missouri. So in the circumstance of winning reviewed calls I don’t feel at all like we got away with one. Oh and the Miami TD overturn was clearly incomplete. That rule of maintaining possession is enforced more often than not regardless of call on field vs replay. And yes…the SEC should play the audio during replay reviews.

Bobby and Jeff: 👏
The OTF talent is off the charts. Rod B is my dude.

What is LSU’s best win?
Today
- Bobby and Jeff: 👏
No offense to anyone else but Jeff and Gerry are my two favourites at OTF. Love everyone else though but those two are my favourites. Although Jeff and Rod B together on a live stream is freaking goated. Throw Gerry in and it'll be the best show of the week lol. When he's back to 100% of course.- Snap Judgments: No. 7 Texas finishes strong, puts away No. 18 Missouri
even the 3rd quarter?- Bobby and Jeff: 👏
Couldn't agree more. They're passionate about Texas without letting every win make them irrationally optimistic or every loss make them irrationally pessimistic. They'll praise what's working, criticize what isn't, and move on without the over-the-top meltdown routine. That's a pretty rare combination these days. 🤘- 2026-27 Women’s Basketball Thread
Booker is a starting for a WNBA team in less than 7 months! She is ready too. Her opponents are in awe of her. She could score 50 a game if Coach let her. She's that good.- Bobby and Jeff: 👏
I love B-Rob's analysis. He sees things only a former pro can see.- Bobby and Jeff: 👏
Thanks. Very kind words.- Snap Judgments: No. 7 Texas finishes strong, puts away No. 18 Missouri
great read. Lets keep rolling. Hook em. Beat LSU- Bobby and Jeff: 👏
I think we’re all lucky to work with one another. Just a good group of guys and one gal IMO.- Bobby and Jeff: 👏
Thank you. I appreciate those words and hope we live them every day.- Bobby and Jeff: 👏
NGL - @Bobby Burton has been is bag lately. New office, LHN partnership, top shelf guests, killer articles. He is too humble to toot his own horn but there is a reason he is top dog in a pack of alphas.- Watching Kentucky/Tennessee
Ding ding ding!- Bobby and Jeff: 👏
Jeff started covering Texas during a Golden Age that quickly soured into an ice age. He and Rod cut their teeth talking through 5-7 in 2010, the Charlie Strong Era and then they got burned by the highs of the Tom Herman era. They know what good football looks like, they know what bad football looks like and they sure as hell know what fool’s gold looks like. I agree Bobby has done a great job getting the band together.- Snap Judgments: No. 7 Texas finishes strong, puts away No. 18 Missouri
As close ro complementary ball as weve seen all season. ST is still struggling tremendously. Couple of other things. Arch is so much better when he spreads the ball around and does not lock onto 1 target (Cam). Sark has finally dialed up a few screens in down and distance circumstances that slowed the backers down and put something else on tape that was different. Even as beat up as this defense rhey epitomize elite. Limited play from arguably the best player in CFB, Secondary beat up etc. Biles has been a wrecking ball, Raptor returning to form, Cryer filling and delivering blows as well as getting guys in the right spot, and last but not least the DL to include Ends have been fantastic.- Bobby and Jeff: 👏
I'd say they have the right amount of emotion. I don't want to tune in to people covering Texas sports exclusively who don't seem to even want to root for the team, or even take obvious contrarian views to prove their objectivity. I feel like it hurts the folks who cover the team for OTF when Texas loses. Maybe or maybe not as much as me, because I'm completely irrationally invested on an emotional level and always have been, but enough where they get it when it's a tough loss or things aren't going great, and they're fulfilled when things do go well. It's a tough balance, and I feel like these guys straddle the line well.- Watching Kentucky/Tennessee
Maybe he wouldn't have had this much success if he'd stayed at Texas, even as the starter? Will Stein is proving to be a pretty good coach on the offensive end. He was at Oregon, too. I don't think the stable of running backs for Texas has been the issue.- Site Upgrade - Thread for help/questions/concerns

Also, this is likely the last year we get to watch Booker in burnt orange, so trying to watch as many games as I can.- Watching Kentucky/Tennessee
CJ was a great ambassador for us when he was here. Loved how well spoken he was about UT and you could tell he was bought in. but after the injury, uncertainty on staying healthy the business decisions were made that most likely didn’t fit what he wanted more than us not wanting him to stay imo Glad to see him doing well at Kentucky though.- 2026-27 Women’s Basketball Thread
