hookem1014 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I care that we beat A&M and OU. Sure a disappointing season in the end but those are huge wins for this program and a great way to close out the season. Proud of how this team grew throughout the year and there’s a lot to be excited for. Like you said let’s go throw bags in the portal and come out swinging in 2026🤘 3 Quote

They both are sad we beat them but they are also both laughing because our season is done and they are in the playoffs Quote
TexasFanatic Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago The only benefit is that we get a head start on portal Quote
TooBrokeToPayAttention21 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Sucks but we did it to ourselves. We had opportunities to right the ship but we kept coming up short. If we don't make it, which I think most Texas fans would agree with, I hope this season stings and burns in the minds and hearts of the coaches, players, fans, etc. Not being malicious but I just want them to make the necessary changes for next year. Whatever that may be so that fans, players, coaches, etc won't feel this again next year. 1 Quote

TexasFanatic Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Do yall remember that poll OTF put out at the beginning of the year? Everyone said 9-3 with no playoffs would be a massive failure Quote

4thandFive Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Beating Oklahoma and Texas A&M absolutely matters. Matters for recruiting, portal, state power, and pure vibe. Guarantee it matters to Oklahoma and A&M. 4 Quote
AusMOJO Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm curious to see what positions we target and who we target. I'll be curious to see who we lose. Such an up and down season, hope we can come back even stronger next year. Quote

Everyone said 9-3 with no playoffs would be a massive failure I think that was because we all thought the team would be better than it was. Something was definitely happening behind the scenes or in the off-season for things to be that far off, imo. Quote
Ambassador of Texas Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Never a waste when you beat all 3 rivals. And aside from that it’s still not a waste. Quite a few young players have gained experience and developed their skills. This will indeed impact our team next year. 3 Quote
Robert Gilbert Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago While I wholeheartedly disagree with the OP’s assertion that this season was “a waste” it was disappointing at several levels. However, I am proud at how the team battled back from adversity and ended the regular season on a high note. The future is bright and I am looking forward to whatever bowl we wind up playing. 1 Quote
Bobby Burton Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The season was not a waste. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure, I could have enjoyed it more. But if you didn’t like watching Texas develop as a team, then I think that’s on you. 12 1 Quote

Battrayal Posted 46 minutes ago Posted 46 minutes ago We have most of the team back next year, so the growth and resolve built here and now will be huge in ‘26… wasted would be 7-5 and not showing resolve in those OT games.. wasted would be dropping to OU and A&M. But showing heart and growing is never a waste 2 Quote

But if you didn’t like watching Texas develop as a team, then I think that’s on you. Agreed, 9-3 was a reasonable expectation. In my eyes the oline was inexperienced and/or young which should have been changed sooner. Also look at past history in the SEC on how many times someone gets the unexpected upset Ask Lane Kiffin. We also lost a lot of talent with the draft and it caught up to us. These young bucks are showing a positive improvement and trust from Sark. For Sark most everyone is complaining about his play calling. Is it his play calling or timing of the the plays called which I look back is the most likely. Quote

But if you didn’t like watching Texas develop as a team, then I think that’s on you. Not a waste at all. We had an insanely tough schedule beat 3 top 10 teams, saw a young team mature, and watch Arch get better every week. I’m not counting us out yet. If SMU beats UVA maybe Miami doesn’t get in, maybe the committee shows us they want some insanely big draws and money in the opening round game if they put Texas in against a Tech, Indiana, Oregon, ATM, SMU, UGA, Bama, OU, or OSU at their place. That makes for great ratings AND gives the football world the message games matter, wins or losses not conference championships. We have an argument against every 2 loss team right now. I’d say this season is a great growth season for a program that continues to succeed even when we’re not playing our best ball. Quote
