Chaminade-Madonna has started leaning on the 6-1, 210-pound Cooper in the playoffs with the games mattering much more. He posted 257 yards and a TD on 34 carries in Friday's win. He had 171 yards and 4 TD's on 14 carries in the playoff game prior. Cooper now has 1,391 yards and 17 TD's on 142 carries (9.8 ypc) in 12 games. Chaminade-Madonna now takes on Jax Trinity Christian Academy in the 1A state semi-final December 5. ------ Jermaine Bishop Jr. caught 15 passes for 328 yards and 3 TD's, picked off a pass, rushed for a TD and sold popcorn in the 38-32 win over Forney High. Bishop Jr. now has 108 receptions for 1,716 yards and 18 TD's on the season, plus 410 rushing yards and 7 TD's. He has 2,373 all-purpose yards in 13 games. Jbro52 Posted yesterday at 04:41 PM Posted yesterday at 04:41 PM Are those the only guys left in the playoffs @Gerry Hamilton Quote
Quinncent McManning, Jr. Posted yesterday at 04:47 PM Posted yesterday at 04:47 PM Very excited about both of these guys. Gerry do you think the learning curve will be high for Cooper? We would need him to learn to pass block to get snaps, so does that severely limit his ability to get carries next year or can he learn quickly ala a CJ Baxter. Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM Author Moderators Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM BTW ... North Crowley and Allen coming in 6A DI Region I final this week Waxahachie and Kohen Brown will meet Duncanville High this week in 6A Division I Region II final. Waxahachie beat Duncanville in district play. Samari Matthews and Hough High (N.C.) advanced to the 8A State Championship game vs. Millbrook High to be played December 11. ----- Carrollton High (Ga.) beat Grayson High (Ga.) 34-14 ... the HS career of 5-star LB Tyler Atkinson has concluded. 10 Quote

Spring ball will def give him the opportunity. I believe he's a football smart player. Not sure many HS RB's learned a system as quick as Baxter, and thus prepared in pass pro to that level. He's was so rare IMO 11 1 Quote

Not Gerry but I’d get one veteran insurance RB in the portal that buys you half the season while Cooper gets up to speed. You can’t go into Ohio State game in austin expecting a freshman to carry the load. Wisner will be a great change of pace but we need a dog who runs hard between the tackles. 2 1 Quote

We will lose at least one of Baxter or Clark to the portal is my guess and Wisner has a decision though my gut tells me he’s back. Need a guy like Arkansas, Miss St, or Mizzou had this year. 1 Quote
Red Five Posted yesterday at 06:38 PM Posted yesterday at 06:38 PM Bishop's stats from that game would make for a pretty solid season. They're basically about what Parker Livingston did this year. 1 Quote
Bobby Burton Posted yesterday at 06:43 PM Posted yesterday at 06:43 PM But the recruiting industry says they're not that good... 😉 5 6 Quote

CGG Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Any chance Bishop will be selling popcorn during the Spring game? Quote
Connor Vaughn Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago @Gerry Hamilton is Bishop really less than 160lbs right now? Or was that just his listed weight when he committed several months ago? He looks like he’s put on 15+ pounds his senior year Quote
ChanmanV Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I feel like we're going to have to use Bishop's athleticism at WR more so than CB. We have so much more depth at CB while no gamechangers at WR. Quote
