UTTUCK Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Is it me or does 6-7 guys playing guard seem kind of tall? I just think you need a more low center of gravity guy, 6-3 to 6-4, maybe 6-5 max, 330# wide body road grader. Yes 6-7 guys with long arms all day at tackles. 1 Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 14 hours ago Moderators Posted 14 hours ago I don’t believe that combo will be your guards in 2026 one bit. Brooks will stick around, based off what I’m hearing. But portal help is the expectation at guard. 5 Quote
drag worm Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Brooks needs to be groomed to take over for Goosby or Baker and we need new SEC quality portal starters at LG, C and RG. Think DT the past two offseasons. We need war daddy’s if we want to go into this Ohio State game in austin in 9 months with a chance to get that monkey off our back. TheContractor12 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago We need 2 OGs in the portal. Brooks a backup at OT. Kibble some reps in the spring and fall to see if he can be in the rotation at OG. Can Cruz be a backup C that can play if Roberson goes down? 2 Quote
NothinButDaHorns34 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Stroh’s lateral movement in pass protection just isn’t what it needs to be for this level. Unless he’s going north and south in the run game i wouldn’t want him on the field. 1 Quote
Red Five Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Brooks needs to be at OT full time and Stroh needs to be at UTSA. 1 Quote
AusMOJO Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I don't think it's too big, but neither of those guys are built for the G spot. Stroh doesn't have that mauler mentality and Brooks does but he's more suited to T than G. I'd assume they'll bring in 3-4 guys on the IOL and we might see some attrition from guys already here.
