hookem1014 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Wonder why it took them this long. He should have been one of the first options. 4 Quote
Waxahorn Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Good luck to him with the 2026 recruiting class. 3 Quote
Bobbers Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago He will be fine. He can rebuild so much more quickly with the portal now. 1 Quote

Alex Butler Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago We’ll see how he does at a place where he’s expected to win and win quickly versus ISU. Quote
John F. Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago All these coaching changes hopefully will push a lot of quality players (OL!) to the portal 3 Quote

Yeah definitely a big change compared to where he's been for a long time. That said, if it actually happens, I think he's a better coach than a lot of the other names bandied about for the position. Not sure that means he'll do any better than Franklin or finish any better than 4th in the Big 10 every year. 1 Quote

I’m guessing Jimmy Sexton doesn’t rep him haha. Failing forward is better than what Florida, Arkansas, and Auburn have done IMO. Quote

Sundancekid Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Pressure will be off Campbell for a few years with this recent coaching hire/recruiting debacle. 1 1 Quote
Rocky P Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago @CJ Vogel What if the plan all along for PSU was to scrap recruiting this year and just go hogwild in the portal. They are big enough to be able to buy their way out of this hole. Saving the recruiting NIL money for portal. Quote

Lnghrn Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Will be interesting to see how he handles the criticism and expectations. He came across as extremely thin skinned at Iowa St. Remember when he went after the fans who yelled something at him when he was upset by an inferior non-conference opponent a few years ago. Not sure if the 5 star culture speaches will work the same at a place like PSU. Quote

You'd think so but that would require the people involved and Penn State fans to be logical or reasonable, and we know that's not happening. Quote

I bet he gets at least 5. PSU doesn't roll through coaches like many others. The portal can help but PSU has to show more commitment to $. 1 Quote
AusMOJO Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago It seems like a good hire, but as someone already said the guy is thin skinned and I'm not sure his coaching style will fit at Penn State. There are much bigger expectations for him there than at lowly Iowa State. Personally hope he flops, but Penn State has to hire someone. Quote

Kevin C Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) One of the better hires among the Power 4 openings, but surprised we didn't see K. Dillingham, Clark Lea get a bigger job. Both have built strong programs. Edited 2 hours ago by Kevin C Quote
Atticus Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Campbell would have been a good hire about 5 years ago. I don't think he's a good fit for Penn St. and that fanbase's expectations. He better handle the media and hecklers a lot better in Happy Valley. He'll also be dealing with a different level of athletes over there. I'll have my popcorn ready. 1 Quote
Quinncent McManning, Jr. Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Well apparently isu was not caught off guard Quote
