Sandman Posted yesterday at 03:16 AM Posted yesterday at 03:16 AM Was he actually in the portal officially? Quote
Layton_Sharp Posted yesterday at 03:17 AM Posted yesterday at 03:17 AM This is very good for our secondary. Just need O-line and the rest of the offense to fall into place now. 🤘🏻 1 Quote
Bunk Moreland Posted yesterday at 03:21 AM Posted yesterday at 03:21 AM Massive. Still think we should bring in another safety to elevate the position, but secondary is looking solid. Quote

jhookem91 Posted yesterday at 03:28 AM Posted yesterday at 03:28 AM Great news. With this announcement and the addition of Mascoe, we should be set in the secondary - assuming no other outgoing portal announcements from the secondary. 2 Quote

f1revo Posted yesterday at 05:08 AM Posted yesterday at 05:08 AM Probably not a lot of demand for someone who looked like a shell of themselves after injury. Hopefully the more distance from that tear the better he will be on that knee. Quote

Lavalulu Posted yesterday at 08:32 AM Posted yesterday at 08:32 AM Fantastic News. Excited to see what the Raptor can do in 2026 working with coach Muschamp. 1 Quote

Hopefully the more distance from that tear the better he will be on that knee. Williams tore his ACL against OU in 2024 so he was less than a year removed from the injury at the start of the 2025 season. I believe Bobby or one of the OTF staff said that Muschamp was trying to keep him. And Blake Gideon returning helped since he originally recruited Williams. Strong endorsement when Muschamp was fighting to keep Williams. Quote
Atticus Posted yesterday at 01:18 PM Posted yesterday at 01:18 PM Strong development, but unless it just wasn't reported, he never actually put his name into the portal. Just stated his intent to enter. Quote
AZ Longhorn Posted yesterday at 04:25 PM Posted yesterday at 04:25 PM (edited) @CJ Vogel @Gerry Hamilton: How confident would you be entering the season with the secondary as it is at this minute? - - - CB1 - Mascoe CB2 - Phillips N - Littleton S1 - McDonald S2 - Filsaime or D Williams? Rotational / Depth: Roberson, Mack, Black, D Williams or Filsaime, J Williams, Hicks - - - I like our depth: Roberson and Mack really showed me something in the citrus bowl, good reports on Hicks, Jonah can't be counted on to maximize his talent but is already filling reps at a serviceable level. And I really like our D line, taking pressure off the secondary to cover for 4+ seconds. So if we spend more money in the secondary, I think it has to be on a Draft-level starter at safety (like Edwin Joseph), and I don't know if that ROI can compete with instead spending that same money to our pool for other, more critical needs.
