Was Texas offer was really THAT much bigger than the UM offer and he turned it down? Is that more due to him just liking michigan even tho his head coach just had the craziest crash out in CFB history, or is Kyle Flood that horrible at his job?

My question is how come Flood gets to keep his job. He hasn’t done anything that warrants it. Only legit player he produced was Kelvin Banks and I doubt if that was a lot about Flood. Goolsby had elite traits. What else has he done here?? He can’t take credit for Bijan, JBrooks or any other talented back that we’ve had. Players clearly looked at their OL coach and Flood and chose theirs

We knew what the plan was when the portal opened. What none of us knows is what the backup plan will be.

That’s where I’m at right now.

After striking out on its top OL targets, I’m willing to wait and see what the counterpunch is before rendering a verdict. Let’s see if the staff can pull the nose up.

Staff missed the target big time. Not sure what they were thinking on some of these guys. Not only that, they haven’t been keeping tabs on their own house. This has been such a disappointing start to the portal. I guess when you declare for a month you have to go big in the portal you just become a bargaining chip.

Texas had a significantly superior financial offer for Sprague.

Bobby - if its not about money, its just about wanting to be at Michigan over Texas. Don't you think this is something the staff can/should be able to sniff out?

Sark reportedly went to visit Sprague and couldn’t close. Things are not good.

Muschamp went to visit Jayden Woods and couldn’t close.

These two guys aren’t getting on planes for players that aren’t central to their portal plan. Losses are mounting and time is running out.

Hear me out.  When I was pondering what law school to go to, I received substantially more money from some good schools than I did from UT.  However, I cannot explain to you the allure of not moving your entire life in your early 20s if you perceive staying (near all of your friends and where you've come to feel is home) to be a good option career-wise.  As such, I am a double longhorn with a lot of student loans.

Some people don’t like hearing the truth 🙁

Reality is that this portal period has gone so bad that not only has Texas completely thrown away the last year with arch, but set the program as a whole back multiple years

It is evident that there is a very toxic culture within the locker room and/or an inability of this staff to adapt to the times in 2026

Sad thing is, I know some really good people in life that act just like this when we have a bad game or even a bad play.  The world is always falling and Sark needs to be fired.  Sad really.  No perspective at all.

There's definitely a happy medium to be found.

Totally agree. Things are changing so fast that when you calibrate your strategy based on the previous year, you might miss the mark. Plus, going from two portal windows to one made this portal completely unpredictable. I don’t fault the coaches from calibrating their approach and focusing on the big fish. I just hope they made a strong contingency plan. Again, not too late to come out of this portal with a roster that’s significantly elevated over 2025.

Offensive line intel has been kept under lock and key.

It would be foolish to not have a contingency plan and I believe Texas has one. We just don’t know who, what or when.

Flood is on it so im not worried 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆

I think that begs the question Bobby - if we're offering more or as much as anyone and losing out to the home team anyway, are we offering the wrong dudes? It would seem like the most basic question to an agent would be - how happy are they are where they are right now? Why are they interested in playing for us? If it's an average level of content or above and the interest level doesn't make concise sense -we're going to lose to an incumbent 9/10.

Hope Sark has something planned because right now we're worse off from where we started.
