While other programs panic and blow their NIL budgets in the first week, Sark waits. He lets coaching changes happen (Saban retiring, Holgorsen fired). He lets players take visits elsewhere and realize the grass isn't greener. Then he strikes. The result? Three straight years of landing impact transfers in the final days of the window — players like Isaiah Bond, AD Mitchell, and Raleek Brown who immediately became starters. Patient. Strategic. Smaller schools can now afford to pay your backups and 3rd stringers what you wont or can't. Cultural suicide, and spitting in their faces lmfao. These kids are trying to go to the highest bidder. We have players that almost made the playoff, pay them and get them better. Don’t go crazy, I agree, but don’t tell them they are with less while throwing money at pipe dreams. Go ahead laugh when we go 8-5. We don’t have any linebackers or inside lineman. Laugh at that. And the future ones left at both positions . You guys treat other people like they are ignotant . Take and objective look at things. This isnt like previous years. See you missed my point. We never lost this much, cultural was strong. Quote

Hesity Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago That’s like a 50% bust rate on the “late” guys. All the best players from your list were considered “early.” I’m not in the doom and gloom camp, I think everything will be fine. But I don’t think this list does does anything to make an argument. You put 🔥 next to Blackshire. Didn’t he transfer out like a week after he committed? Quote
Austalgia Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago And I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom btw. I’m actually not a big go get stuff you already have in the portal guy. I think our secondary looks great for next year. Our D ends, same, don’t like losing Umiozulu, but that’s what we do now , so hey. 🤷 I think we are good at running back, QB, receiver, maybe (if a freshman pans out) but thin. Interior d line good now . I can even talk myself into a pretty good o line (I know not popular) goosby, turntine or Roberson , Robertson, nic brooks , and brandon baker. Tight end I also think we are good . Linebackers we should have kept Lefau, and we dang better not lose Barnes. We just had a lot of depth and we are losing it, and apparently we don’t have the recruiting chops to replace it . 17 game season is what we want, right? We better get some lineman and linebackers . I hope your right in the late gets. And I hope they aren’t 4th 5th choices Quote
Austalgia Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) And at the least, we suck at evaluations if we “let” 20+ guys that were lauded less than 2 years ago not develop, or go because they aren’t good enough now. Edited 16 hours ago by Austalgia Quote

The only true Late impact players have been SIlas Bolden, AD Mitchell, Isaiah Bond, and Hero Kanu. I’ll give Jalen Catalon an Honorable Mention, but he got hurt and can’t recall any value on the field after the Alabama game. Then transferred out end of year. That’s not to say the premise of this thread can’t be true, that Sark will acquire more talent late, but the impact players have been early in the cycle. edit: bad math. 50% hit rate is right Edited 16 hours ago by alrightalrightalright Bad math on my part Quote

We would be in big trouble if Wisner was slated to be our lead back and Parker was slated to be our WR2. Raleek Brown is a clear upgrade over Wisner. TBD on if we upgrade over Parker, but I would like to think Mosely is already better than Parker and that Kaliq Lockett is likely to be better than Parker. 1 Quote

I don't know about you, but I was at the osu game last year, when we were eliminated from the playoffs and we were a player or two away from playing for a Natty. This thing sucks. I agree with you, but it's a 2 way street. These kids are looking for a pay day too. Family works both ways. The parents can set the tone, but the kids have to grow up too and play their role. I'm all for players getting paid. Some will gamble on themselves and prove Texas wrong. Most won't. New world. Genie is not going back in the bottle. 1 Quote
