I live southwest of Ft Worth about 18 miles from Downtown and the Medical District. I walk and jog on the hike and bike trails nearby and nearly every day I see the medical helicopter incoming and outgoing to the southwest of the Medical District and Cook Children's Hospital. I always think of Blake's son Colt when I see the chopper and wish the best for him... and the patient on the helicopter that day when I see it flying by.

Awesome.  We are only limited by our own minds.  We can do what we want when we want through effort, commitment, diet, exercise, and faith.

A ruptured spleen is a definite limit on physical activity and even life itself.

Colt overcame a lot but without great life flights and expert medical care, he likely would not have any chance at a recovery.

True...but some folks would not have put in the effort AFTER the medical care.  Colt DID.  He didn't allow a bad "break" rule him entirely.  He took the Longhorns by the horns.

I know a bit about recovery.  I had a massive stroke. Couldn't move, eat, drink, or anything else at one point.  But I never gave up.  I love those nurses who were so great.

No one meeting me for the first time now would guess that I ever had a stroke.  The doctors are mystified.  They said I would die.  Yet 4 years and 4 mos later here I am on OTF!

Congratulations to Colt on keeping his head on straight and taking on recovery like the champion he is.  I highly suspect that he has only just begun.  As a result better things are ahead!
