Was just told the freshman offensive lineman is up 30 pounds from senior season at North Crowley.

Hovering around 295-298 right now.

Has really come on second half of spring too.

He’s repped at 2nd RT a lot. Hes even taken reps at guard and center (due to injuries).

Reports are very positive out of Austin.

Thanks for the update.  I hope he is our starting LT in 2027.  Any word on why the coaches are playing Newman (who I also like a lot) at 2nd team LT while Turntine is at 2nd team RT?  If for some reason the coaches want to move him inside, I think he would be a terrific C with his skill set and intelligence (although it would not fully utilize his elite agility like playing T would).

I like the seemingly new approach.  Instead of getting an already large human, it seems like the staff is looking for large athletes and letting Becton add the size.  The staff seems to be hitting a high percentage on evals.

I think there was a reason: those people either didn't engage their brains or didn't have the brains to engage.

I think “athlete” is key word.  If they are already huge but athletic awesome, if not build an athlete.  Don’t get big humans that are unathletic.  What good is a wall if you can just run around it or dip under it with not resistance!
