I say this as someone that likes Jeff and Rob ... these guys act like Colorado was a bad team. They weren't some bad/terrible team. They went 17-16 and 7-11 in a damn good Big 12. They had 7 losses by less than 10, and some of those were really good teams that they played from 2 to 6 points in conference play.

I tend to believe people underestimate Isaiah being Chris Johnson's kid. He''s groomed for this move to full time team runner. Not every game or stretch will be high-end, but he will be fine after a short adjustment.

BTW, I have Florida as the easy pick to win the SEC preseason. The Denzel Aberdeen waiver situation does impact their ceiling IMO.

Pick:
Florida

Fighting it out for top 3 seeds in NCAA Tournament:
Texas
Tennessee

Anywhere from No. 4 to No. 6 seeds in NCAA Tournament:
Vanderbilt
Arkansas
Alabama
Missouri

Comfortably in the NCAA Tournament:
Kentucky

Should make NCAA Tournament:
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Georgia

May make the Field of 76:
Oklahoma or Auburn

Who the hell knows:
LSU

Purgatory in a brutal conference:
Mississippi State
South Carolina

Already really liked Vandy’s squad … adds very nice depth piece

Here we go!

Dylan Mingo is gonna be really good but i am not familiar with the rest of their roster. Espn has them at 15 in way too early rankings. Wild that Andre Iguodala II is on that team lmao.

Mingo brothers will be good, and the Liberty transfer is one of best shooters in country

Baylor will likely struggle with Matas and Punch … the combo

The comments on this post are wild lol

I dont get the hate are some of these games set up way in advance ? This non con schedule is a bit better than the last few years so it's an improvement but guess since we have a roster that is much improved people are barely noticing.

I don’t get it either. A non-con of at Louisville (will be a top 3 seed team), Miami (will be a top 20 type team), Baylor (talented guards and likely top 35 team), likely UCLA (will be a top 25 level team), Georgetown and Memphis home prepares Texas.

The home non-con took a hit due to having two “neutral site” games, but I like that Texas is playing in SA and Houston against quality opponents.

People want a teams to play a murders row non-con, plus SEC/ACC plus SEC …

I want Sean Miller to build his depth and team, and grown and prepare his team for the SEC grind without having to play starters too many minutes in non-conference.

14 game non-conference

18 game SEC

SEC Tourney

NCAA Tournament

hopefully a 38-40 game season. Texas will be battle tested and ready throughout the season

Was told Marcus Spears Jr. had a terrific day

And the team had their best workout of the summer today

Have you heard anything about Jordan Pope's appeal and is Texas interested (do we even have room)?

Gerry mentioned Texas has no interest in bringing either him or Weaver back. Spots are filled

You can only have 15 players on a roster at a time in college basketball.  With the addition of Marcus Spears Jr., all 15 of those spots are occupied at Texas now, so Pope and Weaver, if they win their cases, will be playing for different teams this college basketball season.

Thanks.  If you were to bucket these 15 into groups, would it be?:
