Moderators Hank South Posted 23 hours ago Moderators Posted 23 hours ago CJ and I caught a workout today at Westlake that featured a number of college athletes from across the country. We were there for Colin Simmons and Lance Jackson, but bumped into Bo Barnes. He's doing well at UK. Says CJ Baxter is fully healthy too. Awesome kid. Wish him well. 29 3 Quote
Deep in the heart Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Wish we could've made it work with him. I have a feeling he's going to make some noise at UK. 5 Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 23 hours ago Moderators Posted 23 hours ago Bo is great, man. Really wish it could've worked at Texas. He's going to kill it at UK this year and the remaining years of his time in Lexington. Said he doesn't do much but football related activities. Going to be a fun watch this year. 12 Quote

Make some noise at UK? If he does, he'll be in the portal the first day it opens. Hell, he'll probably be in the portal the first day it opens irrespective of how he performs at Kentucky, who am I kidding? 2 1 Quote

If he gets good playing time and can really shine against SEC competition at UK, he can get drafted. Being on a bad team makes standing out a little easier and portal every year isn't a great look either. 2 Quote
NothinButDaHorns34 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Was he another “i know my worth” while barely contributing on the field casualty? Quote

Nah. Several of the 2025 class took pay cuts this offseason (really it was just no signing bonuses and normal pay compared to Year 1 for where he was slotted) and he was willing to do that as well but felt like there was more of an opportunity to go contribute faster elsewhere with Texas bringing in the number of LBs they did in the portal and from the HS ranks. And obviously Kentucky was paying him more. 9 Quote

The real distinction is players who would prefer to be star players on a mediocre team versus playing with stars on a winning team. 1 4 Quote

hookem1014 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Wish Bo stayed. But also surprised he’s not listed as a starter for Kentucky as of now Quote
Dawson Yarbrough Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I really wish the injury to Baxter never happened. I would have loved to see him go into NFL representing the Horns. Great dude. Wish him nothing but the best of luck. 3 Quote

He's a great kid from a great family that decided to go to a different school. Want to see him succeed. Not going to write novels about him but topical today since he was working out with Texas guys. Nick Brooks was there too. Colin Simmons chatted with him for a while. 9 Quote

Here for the Wins Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I’m not above wishing ill will towards an athlete. I’m bitter and aging, if not old. College athletics is a privilege not a right so that’s my justification. Have a nice, successful life after football. I’m always a little partial to former Horns but OU? That’s a tough one. I’d be ok with him being their leading receiver. With 12 catches. 2 Quote
