Bobby Burton Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Remember when I said the House Settlement didn’t address the real issues? All it did was a) kick the can down the road, and b) give the NCAA safe harbor from further suits. Well, it sounds like there’s some folks finally coming up with similar thoughts one year in. ”The House Settlement has been nothing short of a disaster.” 5 Quote

watty7796 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago NCAA has been a toothless joke for years. There has been no attempt at putting guard rails on any of this until the time was already passed. NCAA still has training wheels and the only adults in the room are the commisiiners less yormark. Quote
Jc Dobbs Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Times have certainly changed for CFB. Whatever happened to the NCAA 's David Berst?! He was the NCAA Enforcement Director who was seen perspiring at the Press Conference before taking the stage to announce the "Death Penalty" against $MU for paying players back in the day. Hook 'Em! .45s Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The CSC is independent of the NCAA. Would that committee still have to rule on NIL money, etc. no matter what new body is set up that separates from the NCAA if that body includes a conference(s) that had agreed to opt-in? Quote
harveycmd Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The CSC is not truly independent of the NCAA. They were established by the NCAA to serve an NCAA function. The CSC won't exist much longer because it's a stupid concept. You can't legally tell someone how much a marketing deal is worth. We said as much when this nonsense started last year. If you want to get a "handle" on collegiate athlete compensation, you must negotiate a deal with them. Contrary to uninformed sportscaster opinions, this does not necessitate collective bargaining. There are literally millions of examples of controlled pay structures that don't have collective bargaining. Quote
