Politics either R or D havent done much on the hill so why are they at this point getting involved in sports will make a bad situation worse.  If it has to go this high college sports is already broken beyond fixing in its currwnt form.  Lock the main conference commisioners in a room.  Do the same for player representatives.  Each write out what each wants.  Start pounding it out amongst those 2 entities.  When they have a document that has been settled on, present it.  Mark it up from input from players coaches personnel.  Ratify it for a period of 2 - 5 years and fix whatever is broken or not covered.  Repeat process. Set aside a college czar to decide discipline issues, similar to the nfl.

Not sure his ideas or the bill’s co-sponsor (D) Maria Caldwell’s ideas jive with everyone, but he is an IVY Leaguer as far as sports are concerned and sports is not their primary mission.  They do have some pretty good teams off and on but academics is their main concern.  They do appreciate competition and rivalries and the rivalries among the Ivy League schools are big.

Just like most politicians, if the right lobbyists and convince him this is what “the people” want and it will get his name in the press, he will carry the bill.

Any fan of a SEC team or Big 10 team in favor of this bill as written is clueless. Longhorn and Aggie fans in state need to make that clear to Teddy Boy.

I personally don’t mind there not being a Super League. My problem is that seemingly the only way to fix the systemic problems of CFB is to create a Super League.

His use of CBB examples were blatant nonsense to the issue at hand.
