Integrity? Tech fans chanting that word after that video is the funniest thing to come out of Lubbock since the last dust storm tried to relocate the entire city.

Your program has spent the last month tripping over its own lies, scandals, and self‑inflicted humiliation, and you’re over here acting like a pre‑recorded apology‑video‑with‑background‑music is some kind of moral high ground.

Your coach lied publicly and got exposed. Your booster went on radio pretending he could buy out games like he’s the commissioner of college football. Your QB got permanently banned for betting on his own team - the NCAA basically hit him with the sports equivalent of a restraining order. Your AD has been hiding behind scripted videos because he knows the second he takes real questions, the whole façade collapses.

And YOU want to talk about integrity? Tech talking about integrity is like a pickpocket giving a TED Talk on financial ethics.

That video wasn’t leadership. It was a hostage note from an athletic department begging the rest of the country to stop laughing at them.

And the funniest part? That video wasn’t even meant for the fans - it was Tech trying to convince themselves they still run a serious operation. Every line was vague, empty, and terrified of specifics. They didn’t deny anything. They didn’t address anything. They just wrapped all their scandals in soft lighting and hoped nobody noticed the stench.

It was a PR lullaby. A crisis‑management bedtime story. A “please clap” moment dressed up as integrity.

If that’s the standard in Lubbock now, no wonder the rest of the country is laughing.

The AD saying that the integrity of the game is sacred is as hippocritical as it gets. Reminds me of politicians and how they'll say anything to line their pockets and keep themselves in office. This whole ordeal is gross, and the fact that it involves our state and affects the only sport I love is terrible.

Oh great, they're putting monitoring apps on his phone.haha At this point, he already knows that trying to log into PrizePicks is what alerted authorities in the first place.

From everything that's been reported, it sounds like many of the wagers were allegedly placed through third parties, with him sending them large sums of money and having them place the bets. If that's the case, how does monitoring an app on his phone prevent that from happening again? Are they going to monitor every phone call and text message too?

Right?  I work in corporate and am in Human Resources.  When someone has a problem, we tell them to take time off and focus on yourself and getting better.  The work will be there when you get back.  Not - we support you but go back to work because we need you.

I wasn't familiar with the Dakota Allen situation, so I looked it up. Absolutely terrible luck for him, there's another person with the exact same name who was accused of some horrific things in 2025. Unfortunately, the AI overview lumps them together, making it seem like they're the same person. AI overview fail.

Great point. That's exactly how it works at my company and at ethical businesses of any type. Will Matthews was right on Coffee and Football when he said "having the player play is like forcing a recovering alcoholic to work from a bar". From what I understand, it's also not good to allow an addict to skate on accountability. This about winning at all cost and money. There's no interest is protecting or supporting Sorsby. The Tech administration is doing all they can to protect their $5 million investment. Appreciate the comment! Hook em!
