Jersey decals in College Sports

I never believed I would see the Big brands in College athletics place an Advertisement on their uniforms. Did you? I guess I'm just old school.

 

Notre Dame , I see is the last to bow to the almighty dollar. After Ohio State placed a Chase Bank logo on the Iconic jersey, now the Irish have jumped in to receive Cash from SOFI. Please place others you have heard about below or others that the Aggies and Sooners should consider  below.

I don’t like it. So many iconic jerseys in CFB that are going to get vandalized with these logos. Unfortunately I just don’t see programs, including Texas, turning down a big pay day to get it done. That’s money that can really make a difference.

Donor fatigue. It is coming in some shape or form. Too much $ not to . Especially if the PSA ever passes. The new cap will be 48.8 million , not 21.3 anymore. We will see , but Texas can command the best deal out there no doubt.

pays $50m a year to the warriors to be their logo sponser lol.  I would hope Texas doesn’t turn that down!

Been advertising on uniforms since the 90s by NIKE and other shoe manufacturers.

The Nike Swoosh is on all Texas uniforms.

It is not matter of if but when. A no brainer. Again our NIL part is being  funded by a few big donors. Not talking about Learfield etc. Donor fatigue is real. And to leave anywhere from 20 -40 million out of the budget yearly for a decade would be ridiculous. And despite what CDC said, things change. And CDC is not a ridiculous AD. And I'm sure he understands that. And probably in the works as we speak. .

Notre Dame's deal is worth $18-20M per year for 6 years.

I'll be surprised if we don't have a corporate sponsor patch this year.

I just hope it's not something stupid.

Cj’s nugget about how any money for a patch would take away dollar for dollar from the Nike contract was interesting.  I would be surprised if Texas has that in their contract but others don’t.

Look, if the game is shifting that way, you don't have a choice but to adapt to it. If you don't, you get left behind and become a Dabo Swinney. Whenever it does happen, I think CDC and the people involved in that decision making process will do right by Texas and find the best deal possible.

That doesn't make sense, considering Ohio State is also a nike school. Unless it's something to do with the KD+Nike deal?

No matter how much $ you generate, there are needs. At Texas, we need:

A grass football field, re-model the softball field, an only soccer complex, a volleyball arena, and an athletes housing complex. 

All of these items cost lots of money.
