And if some other party failed to keep their word?  Say regarding playing time?

If Muschamp indeed promised him first string no matter what then sure.

You literally said he’s not quite a good kid if he quits after adversity. I’m just taking you at your word.

We have no idea what he’s been promised by prior coaches, what his family is telling him, what pressures are going on at home, if he struggles mentally, etc. Things don’t happen in a vacuum. You can address character issues with your own son as you’d actually know him. You can’t diagnose character concerns with someone you don’t know is my point. We can be bummed as fans that he may leave the team, but questioning his makeup is unfair.

Then why’d you bring up my kids in the first place if it’s not a good comparison? (I don’t have any btw)

You can get in as deep into it as you want, but the fact is he signed a contract and agreed to play for a lot of money. Backing out of that shows a flawed character. I’ll keep repeating it though, that might not be the case, in which everything I said is moot.

Rojo no one will take you seriously if you keep making obtuse counterpoints. Instead of being stuck on the “good kid” aspect, focus on the character issues. I would talk to them about integrity and the importance of keeping your word.

Immature and not a good person are 2 separate things. Grown men telling kids to gtfo or labeling the whole of them a bad kid is telling on the adults, not the player.

Enough already. Very poor decision by @Gerry Hamilton to post this type of vague news on a site with the loudest fools always ready to confirm their status. So many dogging a kid that they just extolled a couple of days ago.

Terrible look for the site. Lock it up already.

Honestly, my take is the whole flu thing is half correct but doesn’t tell the full story. It feels to me like Tyanthony has a foot out the door and since LB is so thin Sark didn’t want to risk injuries by playing the 1s so he stretched the truth so that he could figure out the Smith situation in the interim. Biles seemed totally fine on Thursday.

You’re entitled to your opinion. Respectfully I disagree. Hook em

If I had known it would turn into this I never would have said anything. I have my opinion, which is that someone who signed a contract and was paid shouldn’t back out of said contract. Doing so shows a lack of character. I only said he’s not quite a good kid, because I was replying to that comment.

You can exaggerate what I said all you want and call me a fool trying to confirm my status, whatever that means, but facts are facts.

Did he skip practice? I didn’t read that.

It was said that he would be missing practice and was not with the team on multiple sites. Sark gave the"kid" an out. Let's see what he does with it since it's a 6 fig decision.

I’m not one for dogging a kid for any reason but i disagree with you on the vague news part, he reported the information he could or was given said “let’s see what happens” I don’t see any negativity in that

Seems like Coach Boom is going to allocate playing time to those players who can execute his defense consistently.  If you can’t or won’t do that, your innate talent (however great) will not be enough by itself to get you on the field.  Muschamp will put you in a position to succeed given your skill set, but you still must execute.

Nothing wrong with anything said by Mods, or members. This site exists for this very reason. We pay to comment. We pay for insider information. Check your feelings at the door. As long as no one is slamming each other in vulgar inappropriate ways, they are entitled to their opinion. If you disagree, discuss with the person you disagree with. Commenting on someone’s opinion is no better or worse than the person’s original comment. If you don’t like that people have opinions, stay off the board. I don’t agree with everything said by everyone but I choose to read, choose to comment.

Thank you. I’m getting flamed for having an opinion on a 20 year old.

To be candid, we have disagreed before and you know what, shucks. That’s life!

There are no facts. Thats the point. Breaking a contract doesn’t mean someone lacks character as a fact nor does it color the entirety of the person. Without knowing the causes, I can’t speak to it but a person can make a poor decision in the heat of the moment and it not be fully representative of their character.

A good rule of thumb is if the gtfo poster supports you, you’re on the wrong side of things. I unblocked him thinking he had turned a corner at this site but he just can’t help himself.

It’s useless speculation. If we had a mature site, I might agree. We don’t. What value was gained from this? We might have a player leave because they’re unhappy? Awesome, let’s dog him cause, money…

That’s true, but it’s also true an off hand comment on a message board shouldn’t rile you up so much. I made it plain that my opinion was based on undetermined facts, and yall acted like I was calling him a scumbag.

Does Coach Top coach Tyanthony Smith outside of Texas? The reason I ask is that he posted a cryptic message today. If not, any idea what this could be about?

I’m not sure but it looks like he was in attendance today based on his account

So they can have opinions but are exempt from opinions on their comments?  Respect of others isn’t about feelings but thanks.

Y’all are so sensitive but try to project that on others. Who’s riled up? I’m enjoying 1792 on a big rock with my lovely wife. Feelings aren’t ever part of a sports site.

Not sure that’s what I said but when I comment, it’s open for all to see, comment and interpret. You are entitled to feel any way you want. Normal comprehension would say I was inclusive of your stance and your opposition but again, when commenting on posts it’s open for all interpretation and perspectives.
