Reading the tea leaves, seems pretty obvious Texas would prefer to mask Ty’Anthony Smith’s absence under the guise of the flu for the time being (which Smith could very well have - thus making it easy for nobody to be lying) while they try to avoid a public disruption in the middle of camp.

Gerry likely has the inside scoop on what’s going on with him, but was told in confidence and can’t reveal it (yet).

Most plausible scenario is he’s fallen behind on the depth chart - it’s not illness, it’s not family, and the team wants whatever it is kept hush. The hallmarks of a holdout.

I can’t see them being able to contain this longer than 24-48 hours. We’ll probably know what’s up by Monday.

My best guess.

That’s not a bad perspective either honestly. I do have trouble with the treating  delicately part, because that just rubs me the wrong way. If you need to be treated delicately, linebacker isn’t a great spot for you. But yea ok I’m done until more information comes out lol.

Maybe I mean handle the situation delicately.  From a coaches perspective (I do think they know what they are doing better than myself, but….) let’s look at where we are at linebacker, see this kids perspective,  and figure out how to get him motivated and on board because we don’t really have all the leverage on this one.  We need him, and not just that, he has given a lot to the program and deserves some earned time.  Again, all this speculation, let’s see what comes out . He might have been treated fairly and none of this applies.  He might have acted out.  Only the mods and people inside seem to know.

What if he was abducted by aliens and replaced with one of their own.  Someone may have walked in on the alien shape shifting abd that is why he wasnt at practice

Whatever is / was going on will come out eventually. Two things can be true with flu, and some other playing issues. Just seems too many stories from various sites on things going on this week, to totally disregard. Also not to totally  overreact if and until necessary with more info etc  lol.

Whatever does or doesn't happen never gonna trash a kid even with more info. I do hope he is okay and getting the support he needs that's all  for now👍

We need his playmaking abilities. He’s got to play within the system and not free lance. Very good player that if willing to be coached hard can be great. He is an experience and difference maker. Coaches coach him up

While I agree with this, it sure was lucky for Sark that he had the flu thing to use as cover.

If the rumors are true, then Sarkisian is likely the best coach Smith can have right now. Everyone should be smart enough to figure it out from there, but this isn't a Jollyful situation for sure.
