Levester White Posted yesterday at 05:05 PM Posted yesterday at 05:05 PM @CJ Vogel asked about the defensive pressures and adjustments, hot reads, and whether Sark is seeing enough quicks and hots and adjustments from Arch. He then gives a little word salad, then says he thinks he -(Arch) does what he's asked to do on particular plays, and that the question is vague. No, that was a weak answer to a great question. So now we know he's not seeing the field; neither is he able to audible. Even worse, Sark is NOT getting Arch and the offense out of bad looks. Sark is saying it without saying it, and will die on this hill. I'm convinced that if we do not see changes on Saturday, we are cooked with Sark. I want to see him do well, but he's doubling down and not seeing that we have a major issue here. 9 1 Quote
DanielOnorato Posted yesterday at 05:16 PM Posted yesterday at 05:16 PM I found sarks answer there disrespectful and condescending. It's a question all of us want to know an answer to. Great job, CJ. Disappointed in Sarks response and attitude there. 1 Quote
HornsInAmarillo Posted yesterday at 05:23 PM Posted yesterday at 05:23 PM It's been very clear for several years that there is zero chance of winning a championship with sark. He is not that sharp, is arrogant, and refuses to change. The offense and it's players continue to regress. Way past time for him to go!!! 3 1 Quote

I don't feel good about this team with him leading the offense. 4 1 Quote

His pride and ego are taking this team down. I don't blame Eston Royal. I wouldn't come here either. Recruits see what's going on. 1 1 Quote
HookedOnTF Posted yesterday at 05:32 PM Posted yesterday at 05:32 PM The answer for better or worse takes the burden off of the QB, and puts it on the OC. Arch did what he was asked and it didnt work on 3 and outs so..... But thats why I'd put some analytics data to him where we are, indisputably, statistically way below standards, and ask what can be done about it. Specific. And anticipating and ruling out the coachspeak, e.g. why do we suck on third down will just elicit got to be better running the ball on early downs. Quote

Guts Posted yesterday at 05:46 PM Posted yesterday at 05:46 PM Yea CJ asked him a direct question and Sark called it vague. Does he think we are stupid? I don’t get it. 1 Quote
Nate C Posted yesterday at 05:56 PM Posted yesterday at 05:56 PM Sark seemed pretty frustrated today. He’s not going to slam Arch publicly but I get the vibe he isn’t always happy with his QBs decision making. Quote
Hookem72 Posted yesterday at 05:59 PM Posted yesterday at 05:59 PM Sark is at a crossroads where he either becomes Ryan Day or Jimbo Fisher and can self reflect enough in his yoga sessions to grow and do what needs to be done. His arrogance is starting to remind me of Jimbo more than Ryan Day. Quote
Colby TS Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM The way both Sark and Arch have danced around answering a simple question about whether Arch can change the play at the line screams Arch isn’t allowed to change the play. Quote

Assistant Regional Manager Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago He isn’t going to tell people publicly in the middle of the damn season what Arch is or isn’t doing at the line of scrimmage. Opponents listen to these press conferences. He isn’t going to throw his QB under the bus. It ain’t that serious. 1 Quote
HookedOnTF Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago @CJ Vogel following up on Sark deflecting your good questions, maybe ask something like this: what stats are you most focused on improving, statistically, on offense - as specific examples, out of 138 D1 teams here is how Joel Klatt framed our offense this week: Quote

This is fair, because if he did, I'd ask: since we passed on Keelon Russell, then we must have other great options in our QB room to try, right? 1 1 Quote
HookedOnTF Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Here's another more specific question. The top 20 p4 offenses in points per drive score at least 3 points. Texas is under 2.4 pts/drive, which is #42 and not in the the top 10 of any of the 4 power conferences. How do we find an extra .5 pts/drive, or an extra 2 drives per game, to have championship caliber offense if you agree that this metric matters? Source: OFEI Quote
harveycmd Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago We've been over this before. Sark doesn't like CJ because of numerous ill-timed if not simply click bate type questions. If you think that's on Sark, I'd suggest you're off. 1 2 Quote
Thanos72 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Sark knows football better than most humans. “He is not that sharp” says more about the poster than sark. Sark isn’t arrogant. If anything, he is stubborn. the reality is that neither ewers nor manning are elite QBs. People, me included, ragged on sark for not moving to manning sooner. We’re all seeing why. Ewers was essential in subtly bringing players here to turn the program. Arch was a rain maker when he signed. I think both have the fatal flaw of weak processing. Now Sark is a bit screwed. It’s a lose/lose moving on from arch. It’d probably tank the season unless Lacey is farther along than we know. Other high profile QBs will note sark bailed mid season. It’s a crap sandwich. sark’s failure, and I don’t know this, is not altering his system to maximize arch’s strengths. This is what I don’t get but I have to wonder if he’s tried it in practice and arch still can’t see the field but now there’s fewer blockers so processing flaws are exacerbated. I think the right question would have been how do you improve (or what would you like to see differently on) real time checks and/or last minute audibles when they’re necessary. McCluskey Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago At times, I wish Sark would respond to questions a little more like a coach and a little less like a politician. Especially after losses. Especially after this question specifically. Quote
uthorn1374 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago You shall not question Sark about qb play or play calling Quote
JohnGalt Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago CJ is the only guy in the room with the balls to ask the right question. I would have been even more pointed. I guess Sark isn’t paid enough yet to answer with accountability Quote

Learning relationships, how to learn what you want to know by asking intelligently, maintaining healthy relationships so you’re not cut off, etc. Sark doesn’t owe us answers. He does owe a better product and he’ll either become less stubborn or he’ll be elsewhere. Press conference musings mean nothing in the the real world no matter the size of balls. Quote
