Who would get more or fewer snaps? Identify the few concepts the offense has shown it can execute with some level of consistency (duo, inside zone and insert in the running game and screens/short perimeter passes in the passing game) and focus on those. Stop trying to be something you’re not. I know Sark wants to be creative and run his offense, but the train is too far down the tracks and you don’t have time to experiment with your season in the balance. 6 Quote

(10 being the unhappiest) And at what number would Del Conte force Sark to make some real changes to the offense? Or would he let him go down with the ship? At the rate the “top” of the sport is losing, 9-3 might not be an issue to make the playoffs if we turn it around. Seasons not over. This is purely about if it does continue in the same direction and I see no reason for it to not. If Texas loses to Ole Miss and it looks the way the last two losses have (or worse), I fear Sark is going to be faced some serious problems from up top. Quote
JMarquette Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I do think it’s quite interesting there is a mod who is outspoken about QB play (rightfully so) but hasn’t said a word about the piss poor offensive line play. 3 Quote
LonghornFan4Ever Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Obviously football is the most popular and highest revenue generating sport at UT, but why do I have this strange feeling that’s it will be a down season for UT athletics as a whole? Quote
OTFBrandon Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago My biggest question is how did every ounce of confidence this team had after beating Ohio State just simply leave them after that Holly Rowe incident? Also is there a way where Texas runs the table, gets into the SEC championship game but loses. Could they still make the playoffs as a three loss team? I know it’s a stretch for that to happen but this season has been crazy so far. Quote

I can only chalk up that 4th quarter to the fault of Ryan Day because it certainly hasn’t been the norm or anything close to the standard Texas has played to since. 1 Quote

Meaning, DC’s throwing blitz packages at Arch, one would assume creates havoc at the offensive line more than usual. Will continue until Arch proves he’ll make them pay for it. I read where Tx is blitzed more than any team in SEC right now. Blood in the water! It’s hard to assign percentages, but I’ll say that the Florida game wasn’t a good day up front. Things are so disjointed in pass protection that I can’t tell what guys are supposed to be doing. If Arch isn’t solely responsible for changing protections, then it’s on the line to communicate and make sure things are accounted for, which doesn’t appear to be happening. On blitz situations specifically, one thing I’ve noticed that since Arch never checks out of a play once he’s set behind the center, you’ll notice guys start moving the minute Arch’s hands go up and he’s sending a guy in motion or calling for snap. That’s why rushers are coming free sometimes, IMO, because they don’t have to show early knowing whatever play is on won’t be killed/checked out of. Quote

After watching max browne video I dont see how sark can start him this next game and keep his job if something major doesnt change. It’s an offseason fix, IMO. I’d love to be wrong about that, but it’s getting worse. Quote

Both. I’m pretty clear about my stance on Ryan Day and his coaching prowesss. Additionally, I don’t think Texas has a dynamic run game just waiting to be unleashed. They’re 119th in yards per attempt currently, it’s pretty bad. 1 Quote

pinkman_90 Posted 51 minutes ago Posted 51 minutes ago Can any QB be truly successful in a play action shot offense that can’t run the ball? Quote
texcoyote15 Posted 44 minutes ago Posted 44 minutes ago One thing about going with KJ is at that point I don’t think there will be any going back and run Arch back in there. That’s usually why coaches take so long to change, because it breaks any confidence the starter had left. I’m not saying don’t do it, but I’m just saying if you do the Arch era is probably over. He’s not going to all of a sudden watch and come back in dialed in. I think Arch is better than he has shown but most of his games here we’ve ran out a subpar offensive line and he’s getting hit so much. It has a rattling effect. We should have addressed the offensive line better in the portal (I thought we did but obviously not). And you can’t tell me that one the way to attack Texas was made public, Sark couldn’t have figured out how to beat it. It’s not like he has to wonder what the defense is going to do……THEY ARE GOING TO DO THE SAME FREAKING THING ALL THE OTHER ONES HAVE DONE. Until you stop/burn it that’s what we’ll see Quote
selfdm Posted 41 minutes ago Posted 41 minutes ago On a scale of 1-10, how surprised are the mods at the state of the offense 6 games into this season given the offseason hype? In particular, what are you most surprised about specifically? Quote
