JMarquette Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Gotten heavily back into reading in the past year or 2 and thought if there were any other books worms, maybe we start a book club? 2 Quote
4thandFive Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I don’t do much reading that’s not religious or academic/biblical/ancient near eastern history. I do have some good recommendations for those interested in that type of book. 1 2 Quote

HalfmileHorn Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I've started to pick it up the past couple of weeks. Purchased several Clive Cussler novels at the Goodwill store. Seems to be a good time to start a book club ... 1 Quote

I've been reading The Attributes of God by A.W. Tozer lately. Very heavy book that forces me to wrestle with the concept of infinitude. Highly recommended. 2 Quote
Purplehorn3 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago My genre is history. Just finished Fehrenbach's Lone Star, the best Texas History book out there in my opinion. I read this once before about 20 years ago and thought it was worth a re-read. I don't dabble too much into fiction, but I have been known to lose myself in a Louis L'amour western and some Cormac McCarthy novel. Another guilty pleasure is reading firsthand narratives from history. Civil War journals, Roman and Greek writings, etc,.. Always open to suggetions 2 Quote
Bobby Burton Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Currently reading Mona's Eyes. Daughter recommended it. Interesting set up so far. 2 Quote

Always open to suggetions My Dad got me interested in L’amour books as a young kid. He had everyone of them. He built bookshelves just to hold his L’amour books. He said when you open the page of a L’amour book you can smell the gunpowder and horse chips 😃😃. Lots of good western writers out there. The Johnstone’s, Elmer Kelton is really good. Quote

Robert Gilbert Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I just started rereading Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series. There are close to 40 books in the series including the Jack Ryan Jr. books. In addition, I love Dirk Pitt series by Clive Cussler. Also the Jake Grafton books by Stephen Coonts. 1 Quote
4thandFive Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I’m currently reading a book by Scott Rae called Moral Choices: An Introduction to Ethics. I don’t agree with everything in the book, but it’s been pretty solid. 1 Quote
