One Burning Question: With the season on the line, can Texas' offensive line come through?

How much does Texas miss Jake Majors for the second year in a row, very under appreciated player for his time at Texas. In his last two years as a starter Texas had a top 25 offense. Now the Eagles starting center

When Sark was the primary play caller at Alabama he had Landon Dickerson. Who obviously has moved to guard and been a great player in the NFL.

Coach Sark’s other top 25 offense he had the late Max Turek as his starting center who was a third round pick. If a knee injury doesn’t hurt his development he could’ve been a consistent starter for the Chargers.

Tackles get all the flash but center is the most important position under Sark. You gotta look at Robertson and flat out say it’s not good enough and roll someone else out there.

LOL

There were multiple people that said they didn’t address the line problem. It’s no surprise to me. Others said it was good enough to win a national championship. Always have to wait to see it on the field.

No disrespect to those guys on the offensive line but a fork should be stuck in it now.  I my humble opinion not 1 of those guys has done even an adequate job.  Center gets pushed back regularly.  Right guard who was recruited as a tackle has dead feet.  Expensive tackle on the right side has failed on multiple occasion to seal the edge.  Left guard has been only marginally better than the center and the left tackle play has dropped off in estimation 15-20%.  These fellas got named the starter and just quit improving and effort has been nonexistent.   The communication across all 5 plus TE has been poor at best.  There are more than enough fingers to point.  The last 2 years line play has been mediocre at best.  So the question is did Kelvin Banks bouy that line.  Great players raise all ships.  Just my opinion is beyond not having an identity...the offense lacks any leadership.  Arch walks around with his head down completely defeated, wr come off the field and you can see the frustration seething out, RB looking bewildered getting thumped behind the los.  I dont know if its a leadership issue among the players or if its coaches?    Either way what they are doing is falling drastically short of expectations.   This great game has always been and will always be won or lost on the line of scrimmage.  Lets hope with no more rope...maybe just maybe they will start climbing.

Oline isn't a burning question it's a burning hole. Flood hasn't produced an interior lineman drafted in the top 5 rounds since he's been at Texas. It's clear the line is unable to do what's being asked either because of coaching, decision making, scouting, or all of the above. Either way unacceptable and whenever the third loss inevitably comes, changes need to be made.

Haha, it’s a giant pile of burning stinking garbage.

robertson and baker have been horrible. robertson was a known quantity but i think it was reasonable to expect baker to be better at guard than he has been.

you can’t hide two pushovers in the middle of your line.  it’s affecting everyone else on the line.

…and when you run a pro-style play action offense (predominantly with 3rd-down back type RBs getting hit at or behind the line of scrimmage)…and you are unwilling to adjust your scheme to suit your personnel that YOU brought in…and you have a QB with tunnel vision and no pocket awareness…

[sigh]

Less thinking for the OL, more Rebels getting blocked = good time.

No one expects perfection but if we get blown up on run schemes constantly something ain't right. Could be a culmination of things but the blame lay at Sark's fault. Says he wants to run the ball and all this but never put an emphasis on it. Even the OL he got from the portal were better pass blockers than run blockers.

Need some dudes that are going to beat your ass, steal your lunch money and then beat your ass again for the heck of it.

This is it for the Texas offensive line under Kyle Flood, IMO. A performance on Saturday like their last three and it'll be time to stick a fork in the group as it stands.

Or maybe they turn things around with their backs against the wall. We'll see tomorrow.

Jeff we already know how this ends...contract extension for Kyle Flood 😂😂
