I think all offseason Arch was told this team is so talented you just have to not make any mistakes. I think that's why he's looking off of Open receivers on throws that he could make and looking for an easier safer option. I think they've gotten in his head and until they get out we're not going to see the guy who he had last year.

No that is not what I am saying. I am saying look at the four years he has been here. If Sark felt Arch was better than Quinn he would have transferred. So take that with the entire time Arch has been the starter. Look at the whole body of work.

I honestly think Sark has predetermined that its the "starter's time" until it isn’t. He's given Arch as much grace as he did with Quinn. I don't think Sark wants to bench anyone at the QB position unless he feels he absolutely has to (i.e. Card at Arkansas & Quinn vs Georgia in Austin). Its crazy to think that Casey Thompson probably the QB that's run Sark's offense the smoothest and with the most consistency as any of the QBs during Sark's tenure at Texas.

Was Arch really THAT good in the 2nd half of 2025? He was still missing throws and making questionable reads, but he had some big plays in there that were enough to get the job done. The argument was that he didn't have enough help, he got help this season, and his level of play hasn't elevated.

Same system as last year, but what growth has he shown in it? He was injured in the offseason, but how much time did he spend in the playbook? Where is the ownership of the offense?

It's on Sark for choosing him as the starter, but not doing enough to make him serviceable or consistent despite his limitations. It is also on him for retaining Kyle Flood and allowing the OL to continue its descent.

Have you considered even if there are open receivers it's not the offense arch is apt to run and make decisions in?  Come on now

It's the same offense he's been running now for 4 years. I think he would have already transferred if he couldn't run the offense.

There are but this was also the same guy that was carrying the offense the 2nd half last year. So what changed? How did he lose his confidence to this degree? Why did he go from playing with so much swagger his first two years to now? Why did he look way better starting vs Mississippi St with only 1 start under his belt two years ago than he does now after 20+??

What I see someone that's being overcoached to the point that they are overthinking every decision and no longer trust themselves. Imagine an elite streetballer from NYC being forced to play in a one dribble, cut and screen motion offense in basketball for the sake of his "development". You'd get a shell of that guy and wonder if he could even play at all when the reality is he's in the wrong system.

What perplexes me is that Arch & Sark had real success the back half of last year. How did we not grow on that? How did we go backwards? Sark knows what Arch is capable so that's the part that I don't quite understand.

Easy answer. Arch is the problem. Sark hasn't changed his offense. It's not like he hired a new OC. I don't know what happened to Arch, but something has.

He’s always been an inaccurate passer … for sure.

He’s like Rob Deer of QB’s

Nonsense. The tape doesn't lie. There are open receivers and open running lanes and Arch is freezing like a scare-goat. He's broken. Can he fix it tomorrow night? Certainly. Do we expect him to? We are hopeful, but not confident. But to say this dysfunction is on Sark, the play caller, is ridiculous.

The Max Browne  video really exposed it.  Browne played QB for Sark; if anyone can identify the problem, it’s Max Browne.
