No arm tackles next week I honestly think Skattebo and ASU’s ground game is overrated. Skattebo has gone over 200 yds rushing one time on the season (against Mississippi State). Been held under 100 yds rushing 6 times this season. Dude isn’t anything our swarming defense can’t handle. ASU hasn’t seen a defense close to as good as our’s all year. now, I will for sure be pissed if this comment comes back to bite me. But if we let Skattebo run all over us and carry ASU to a W, we obviously don’t deserve to play in the later rounds of the playoffs.

Fair enough, but I do think his performance will be something to watch in those games. It will be what I’m most concerned about on defense for us. Really every defender on the field for us has made splash plays for us this year except Muhammad. I believe he can rise to the challenge and play better, I just hope that he does. I know a lot of the situations of him potentially looking “worse” than last year are teams targeting him more rather than throwing at Barron. I’m worried about our defense next year if he’s the best CB we have coming back. Seems to have regressed a little from last season. Sophomore slump? You did see several of those pass were placed where only the receiver could catch it right? A bad game doesn’t signal regression. Further are you just assuming he won’t improve over the summer? Like stated above, lack of pass rush at times (cover times increased against good receivers), Klubnik dropping dimes and in the zone, and great sideline catches made Mohammed look worse at times. Not that he was perfect, but noone can make those throws going forward except Gabriel maybe. Let them throw at him later, he will shore up I think. He will be a high draft pick one day. Some of those catches and throws were indefensible. Some crossing route coverages were dropped, but I’m sure there will be a 2 week focus on getting these things fixed. Jadhae Barron started the coaching on the field, he was yelling at players real time. Better to fail in a win and learn from it going forward. At least I hope this is what happens. We usually run some of those routes out of bounds and throw off, or intercept passes, that will come back. JMarquette
I’ll throw this one out there: I don’t think that any QB from here on out will play as well as Klubnik did.

Some of the passes were placed where only the WR could catch it because the WR had gotten past Muhammad. Like I’ve said in previous replies, I have faith that he can play better and get better. However, if we’re replacing Barron with Muhammad, that’s replacing a guy who has a knack for making more plays (INTs, TFLs, etc) than giving up big plays with a guy that I’m seeing giving up more big plays than he’s making. Again, not saying improvement in the short term or long term is impossible or even unlikely. Just saying that we will be in trouble if Muhammad struggles like that vs Oregon or Ohio State. Based on the way Ohio State played last night, I’d say multiple of their receivers could be a problem for Muhammad if he doesn’t play at higher level than he did yesterday. I do think that Howard is good enough to hit his receivers with reasonably accurate balls if they get a modest amount of separation. And Ohio State’s receivers are certainly better than Clemson’s. Ohio State’s WR corps is Top 2 in the country, if not #1. The one thing- Howard does have more of a penchant for throwing INTs than Klubnik. And I think Klubnik has a better clutch gene than Howard. Dillon Gabriel, on the other hand, is essentially a better version of Klubnik. Pretty similar styles

I am a fan on a fan message board- literally no consequence from me “looking ahead”. The ironic thing is you are poo-pooing me for “looking ahead” past ASU, when your whole original comment was downplaying/potentially underestimating ASU. You see the irony there, right? Yea not reading all that. Good for you. Or sorry it happened. Hook em.

On this play MM had good coverage but Klubick made a perfect throw. I think he let his frustration get to him a bit more than usual. Because he's in good coverage and the ball still gets there. You can see it at the end of that play. I think several of the guys tried to calm him down, but it was already in his head at that point. Find it interesting that no one has mentioned Hill in coverage, he got beat twice for TD's. Once over the top and one where he misread his zone coverage and was sliding over and left the WR or RB wide open for the TD in the endzone. I think he'll play really well, like he has most of the season. But I don't think one game of Klubnik playing his best in his home town, is something to get crazy about. These boys will be laser focused from now on. One thing I think Oregon has that we haven't seen in spades, is the sheer overall speed of their O. Their D is really not that great, it would be more to see if we can put the clamps on that speed running all over us.

Pretty similar styles I can see some of your points, but I think PK would learn to be a little more aggressive with getting pressure like he was in the 1st half vs the 2nd half against Clemson. I'm not worried about MM, he's had one bad game, he wasn't the only one. They'll see it, get it sorted and go take it out on ASU.
