In the NIL era, winning out on any top tier prospect is a crapshoot. Texas will have another top 3 class and finally have the talent and depth of peak Bama, Georgia, and Ohio State going into what could be a special 2026 season. However, it could be a big issue if he was not being truthful with the Texas coaches regarding why he was not coming to Austin. It would be nice to know if Gerry's reporting was NOT coming from our coaches but rather from the kid or a source close to the kid. So he hasn't "done nothing".
