Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted yesterday at 01:03 PM Moderators Posted yesterday at 01:03 PM Question for the community ... 1. Do you think Texas will get in the NCAA Tournament? 2. Do you want Texas to be in the NCAA Tournament? 5 Quote
Josh Hadas Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM (edited) 1. Yes, but I think its close. Play-in at best. 2. Yes. I want to see more of what this team has produced over past week. Edited yesterday at 01:08 PM by Josh Hadas 5 Quote
tsip92 Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM Coin toss and Yes. I also want another head coach next year, but if RT somehow gets to the sweet 16 he probably gets another year. 4 Quote
texcoyote15 Posted yesterday at 01:09 PM Posted yesterday at 01:09 PM I think they will sneak in when the committee looks at the overall picture. Yes I want them to get in. We know they’re not going to win the tournament but when healthy and rested they can give teams trouble. Wins as many as they can and then get a new staff in here and start building something. 5 Quote
Connor Vaughn Posted yesterday at 01:09 PM Posted yesterday at 01:09 PM I dont think they will and I dont believe they should. Regardless of how great the SEC is, going 6-12 is atrocious. Plain and simple. 4 Quote
Joe Zura Posted yesterday at 01:11 PM Posted yesterday at 01:11 PM 1. No to many bad losses at home 2. No speed up the finding of a new coach 2 2 Quote
TTaylor2135 Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM 1) coin toss but I think they get the sec bump.. not saying we deserve it though. I am totally fine with anyone else over us besides UNC. I was at the ACC last night and what an awful product. Louisville/Clemson are 2/3 and they’d be 13/14 in the SEC, respectfully. 2) ask me a week ago and I say idc.. now, I’d like to see Tre and this new team imo is capable of a win or two 3 Quote
Itsamystery Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM Yes. Especially if they play like their first two games of the SEC tournament. Yes, they belong. By the thinnest of margins. No to the NIT if it comes to that. 3 Quote
Connor Vaughn Posted yesterday at 01:21 PM Posted yesterday at 01:21 PM I dont think they will and I dont believe they should. Regardless of how great the SEC is, going 6-12 is atrocious. Plain and simple. I believe this is all a moot point anyway since Boise won. 2 Quote
HornsUp Tom Posted yesterday at 01:24 PM Posted yesterday at 01:24 PM Yes Yes It’s March, this Texas team making a run doesn’t seem probable but crazier things have happened with teams not as good. We all want a new coach but lets go fight man. 2 Quote
cmk4pres Posted yesterday at 01:25 PM Posted yesterday at 01:25 PM Yes I want them in the tourney. 50/50 if they make it. yes I want a new coach 4 Quote
Timberman Posted yesterday at 01:35 PM Posted yesterday at 01:35 PM Yes - I think they will get into the tournament. No - I think it’s time to shuffle the deck and start over with a new coach 1 Quote
cdibbs Posted yesterday at 01:37 PM Posted yesterday at 01:37 PM (edited) 1. No, but as someone who follows the mountain west closely, San diego st has no business in the field. Lots of talk about UNC, but SDSU is less deserving. 2. Yes. I still see the potential for a 2021 UCLA type team here. Edited yesterday at 01:37 PM by cdibbs Quote
GDI Posted yesterday at 01:38 PM Posted yesterday at 01:38 PM Yes and yes, but I don't think they deserve to be in. Conference record is the reason I don't think they should be in. I'm part of a pretty big minority that think all sports seasons are too long. Regular season, Conference tournament, NCAA tournament, then "play in games" give me a break. Fewer game would produce a better product. Quote

pinkman_90 Posted yesterday at 01:48 PM Posted yesterday at 01:48 PM (edited) It’s a very weak bubble and we have a better resume than most of the other bubble teams. But the committee will probably put the Tar Heels in over us with terrible justification when we all know it’s because they’re UNC. Granted this team doesn’t really deserve it but neither do the other bubble teams. Edited yesterday at 01:49 PM by pinkman_90 Quote
Assistant Regional Manager Posted yesterday at 01:50 PM Posted yesterday at 01:50 PM It will be a total garbage if UNC is in the field and Texas is not. If UNC’s jerseys said Boston College they wouldn’t even be on the bubble. I’ll accept it if both teams are left out but at some point you have to beat a few teams with a solid pulse, and UNC had 13 chances and went 1-12. 1 Quote
tmataya Posted yesterday at 01:51 PM Posted yesterday at 01:51 PM 1. Yes based on quad 1 wins and they have dealt with injuries that impacted their total. Now at full strength (and playing Mark at PG) they are much improved. That said will the committee see that Carolina blue and forget how mediocre they have been? 2. I don’t believe in ever rooting against Texas. But I also think a change is needed. Especially on the offense or lack thereof. Quote
Realist Horn Posted yesterday at 01:52 PM Posted yesterday at 01:52 PM As of now, they get it, but if a lower seed steals a bid, they are on the outside. No. Texas has no chance to win it all. Time to get a new coach in here to start recruiting/working the portal. Quote
Robbin Antono Posted yesterday at 01:54 PM Posted yesterday at 01:54 PM Yes and Yes. I am sure RT won’t be our coach next year unless we make it to Elite 8. Regardless, I like RT, but I want more predictable and character in our offense. 1 Quote
Jerry K Posted yesterday at 02:07 PM Posted yesterday at 02:07 PM Yep because they f what they’ve done lately. No way I would ever root for the Longhorns to lose. I don’t think they deserve to be but that’s not a question that was asked. Quote
JMarquette Posted yesterday at 02:10 PM Posted yesterday at 02:10 PM The people who don’t want the Horns to make the tournament are some of the dumbest people. Why would you not want to watch your team in the best sports tournament in the world? 2 Quote
TTaylor2135 Posted yesterday at 02:12 PM Posted yesterday at 02:12 PM Just now, JMarquette said: The people who don’t want the Horns to make the tournament are some of the dumbest people. Why would you not want to watch your team in the best sports tournament in the world? Even that Myles Turner year I knew we had no chance but of course wanted to make it. I think we lost ugly to butler in the first round if I remember correctly. 1 Quote
