Raistlin Posted yesterday at 02:13 PM Posted yesterday at 02:13 PM 1. I don’t think that the Committee rewards a team with a 12 loss conference record. 2. If we can get in the 64 team field, I’m all for it. I don’t want a welfare-like play-in game; it’s the committee saying, “You didn’t earn a spot with the real teams, but we will give you a participation trophy.” 1 Quote

I think we lost ugly to butler in the first round if I remember correctly. You always play the game, that’s what makes March Madness the best. You never know what will happen. 1 Quote

Do you want Texas to be in the NCAA Tournament? Yes and Yes. However we keep talking about the tournament. That should not be the barometer of a successful program. How you finish in your conference consistently should be the barometer. Just my opinion. 1 Quote

By the thinnest of margins. No to the NIT if it comes to that. I have no inside info but I like your last sentence. Most of this roster is not even here next year. What is the point in play in the NIT? If we had a young team and you can see they are getting better and better, then yes. That is not this team. Quote

Orngblud05 Posted yesterday at 03:05 PM Posted yesterday at 03:05 PM Yes. Texas has an advantage with Tre. The committee wants him to play. if you don’t want them in, you are not a longhorn. I don’t care what the narrative is around the Coach. 2 1 Quote

Robert Eberhardt Posted yesterday at 03:11 PM Posted yesterday at 03:11 PM Yes and yes - if metrics matter, we are in - we are head and shoulders above all the other bubble teams with quad one wins. However, I hope this is a lesson for future nonconference scheduling - that slate was an embarrassment (and a complete ripoff) for paying season ticket holders and the team. If we talk about marquee scheduling for football, hold the basketball team to the same standard. Quote
BevoFlyer Posted yesterday at 03:12 PM Posted yesterday at 03:12 PM Yes, but it feels weak. I will not say undeserved, just weak. Yes. Always pull for the Horns, but still want a new HC. Quote
bierce Posted yesterday at 03:20 PM Posted yesterday at 03:20 PM 1. Right now, I'm a solid maybe, but I'm a solid no if VCU, Memphis, or UC San Diego lose in conference tournament finals. 2. Absolutely But let's get real here. The tournament is too big. Go back to 64 teams and do away with the play-in games. 1 Quote
Bobby Burton Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM 1. I don't know. 2. Absolutely. 1 Quote
Ace Recruiter Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM 1. Toss up. Will the committee consider that this team is healthy for the 1st time in a long time? Weaver alone might have turned a couple of close losses into close wins. 2. Do we want a lame duck coach next year? Best for everyone if we just part ways. RT seems to have a good chance at a new job and we can start fresh. Quote
dentonhorn Posted yesterday at 03:38 PM Posted yesterday at 03:38 PM 1. Looks like ot 2. If they want to play I guess so. Personally can’t work up much enthusiasm for men’s basketball right now. Only the 2nd time in my lifetime Texas took a backwards hire in basketball since Leon Black. Shaka hire puzzled me at the time. Terry was a jaw dropper for me, a WTF moment. Quote
Aspann85 Posted yesterday at 03:54 PM Posted yesterday at 03:54 PM 1. No 2. Yes for the sake of the players. They clearly have the ability, but couldn’t be consistent. Quote
The Tower Posted yesterday at 03:54 PM Posted yesterday at 03:54 PM 1. Do you think Texas will get in the NCAA Tournament? No. Their NC OOC schedule is rated 285 and several bad home losses. UNC shouldn't get in, as well but the committee will have a hard time between both teams. I think the OOC advantage will volt UNC over Texas. 2. Do you want Texas to be in the NCAA Tournament? Yes, the public needs to see the greatness of Trae Johnson. I do think RT will be let go after this year, unless Texas makes it to the Sweet 16 Quote
Kendra Scotts Boyfriend Posted yesterday at 04:07 PM Posted yesterday at 04:07 PM 50/50. Nobody really deserves to make the tournament with a 6-12 conference record, but the bubble is extremely weak this year. Yes I absolutely want them to make the tournament. Any Texas fan not rooting for this team to make it can’t call themselves a real fan Quote

If we do, I do not think we will go very far. We could win a game or two since our roster is now healthy but don't see us getting to the round of 16. Quote
watty7796 Posted yesterday at 07:28 PM Posted yesterday at 07:28 PM I think Texas makes the tourney by the skin of their teeth and of ouslrsw i want them in there to compete against top tier teams. That's the only real measurement that counts at the end of the day. I also would like to see a new coach and strength and conditioning staff so Texas would be more competitive over the next few years. This program has had a ton of missed minutes due to injury. Quote

HudGar1922 Posted yesterday at 08:01 PM Posted yesterday at 08:01 PM no i don’t think we get in. i would like to see them make it, because texas is the only basketball i watch once they are out i don’t watch basketball kinda like the baseball once the astros are eliminated or pro football once the cowboys are done. 1 Quote
