Bevo92 Posted Friday at 02:29 PM Posted Friday at 02:29 PM https://www.espn.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/39584775 Curious what others think about the updated rankings of Top 90 QBs over past 25 years. No real changes at the top. A couple of things that stood out when looking at the ilst. 1) Wow, forget how crazy Case Keenum's stats were when he threw for 5000 yards and 40 TDs in 3 consecutive seasons with 19,217 total yards completed and 69% completion rate. That's 2000 yards more than any other QB in history. Art Briles had that offense humming before he jumped to Baylor. 2) Hoping Arch outperforms his Uncle Eli who threw for 10,119 yars, 81 TDs, 35 INTs and 61% completion rate. 3) How is Eric Crouch at #50 among all QBs with only 4481 yds passing, 29 TDs, 25 INTs and only 52% completion rate. Clearly the 3434 rushing yards and 59 rushing TDs outweighed his far below average arm. Hard to compare running QBs to pure passers side by side. 4) Looking back through the list, there have been some really fun seasons with incredible QB play. Even though I root against many of these teams, these QBs were impressive for what they did on the field. Joe Burrow (#5), Deshaun Watson (#6), Lamar Jackson (#8), Trevor Lawrence (#11), Manziel (#13), Matt Leinart (#17), Bryce Young (#20) 1 Quote
Austalgia Posted Friday at 03:25 PM Posted Friday at 03:25 PM I don’t even think this is a homer take. Vince Young is the best college QB to ever play the game. He should be number one. He willed a team to a championship against a star studded team with 2 Heisman players and 28 NFL players that was probably one of the greatest dynasties ever in college football at its height. 9 Quote
Bobbers Posted Friday at 04:46 PM Posted Friday at 04:46 PM There is not a coach or player alive that would take Baker Mayfield over Vince Young. That is just silly. 9 Quote

Agreed! I've been watching CFB since 1969 and VY is the best I've seen. 3 Quote

I’ll say Newton 1, and VY 2. I think VY had a better team, but we’re still just talking about 1 season for Cam. Quote

Tuco Ramirez Posted Friday at 05:21 PM Posted Friday at 05:21 PM A) It’s espn so you know this list is stupid. B) Baker at no.1 so yeah, it’s stupid. 2 Quote

He led his offense flawlessly. They were dominate. Quote

qaertyisthatdude Posted Friday at 06:04 PM Posted Friday at 06:04 PM Hot take but I would take Sam Bradford before his injuries over Baker Mayfield. His ‘08 statline was insane and that was during a time where targeting and defenseless receiver penalties were rare. 2 Quote

Baker is a douchebag who is suing his father, or getting sued by his father or is his father’s brother or something like that. 2 Quote

harveycmd Posted Saturday at 02:34 PM Posted Saturday at 02:34 PM Arch is going 1/1 when he comes out. No GM with the first pick is gong to try to explain why he didn't draft a Manning. 1 Quote
Bobby Burton Posted Saturday at 04:40 PM Posted Saturday at 04:40 PM How many national championships did Baker Mayfield win? 2 Quote
CGG Posted Saturday at 04:58 PM Posted Saturday at 04:58 PM Baker Mayfield lost to a 5-7 Texas team in 2015. That alone should have moved him down a few notches on the list. 2 Quote

That's true, but the greatest QB in CFB in history is Joe Burrow in 2019. That's a one year deal, but it's the truth. I'm betting Arch surpasses that this year or next. Quote
